There had to a be a decent amount of work for them to create the pages people saw deployed yesterday. They did not do that just for fun.
Maybe some angry feedback/comments got them to reverse their decision. Or a warning shot of things to come...

I've been using Usenet for years. For just under 1.60 EUR/month I can download unlimited files. Oh ... A VPN is also included. That alone would cost several euros per month.
No one should have to pay those prices. Granted, the prices are not as cheap as they were a few years ago. But you shouldn't pay more than 3 EUR/month.

Forum post from the sister site: 12/26/2023 | site news | KatFile will be Discontinued... one day

    Original by SAINT:

" UPD: so after reading all the comments and reviewing the rating, i've decided not to replace KF until there will be a really decent alternative, because the only one i had in mind is NitroFlare, which is not that much better than KF, but at least they are one of the strongest on the market.

Remember, to me the top criteria is reliability, which means that FS has to be around for at least several years and developed good reputation; it also has to be widely used elsewhere, so you wouldn't have to buy premium just for AudioZ. most of the alternatives that you mentioned are either new, have bad reputation, don't work somewhere or for someone.

Torrents are off the table. It was almost perfect file sharing protocol, but these days they are so massively blocked and even prosecuted in some countries, that i simply don't see any future for torrents on this layer of internet.

I had high hopes for iPFS since they started and i keep watching it, but even so far iPFS doesn't work as it supposed to. therefore let's leave things as they are for now, but please don't pay for the annual premium expecting it to last in this unstable industry.

honestly i don't know, like i said many times, we can't just pick a file sharing service and make users pay for it just to get stuff from AudioZ - that FS must be supported globally, by other web-sites. it has to be reputable and must be on the market for at least several years.
these FS come and go, i can probably name 4 or 5 that have been there for at least 10 years and among those all we have is KF, RG and NF.

can you please send me links to your favorite usenet services (in PM)?

    exactly :like: wise words

It's completely free to upload/ download. They rely entirely on donations. As long as files are constantly being downloaded (once within a 7 day period, the files will remain*) I honestly thought that would resinate with everyone on here, be it uploader or Downloader.

Complete anonymity, upload from the front page and no registration required either.

*once every thirty day period for files over 100mb

It's as close to being Zippyshare as I can find.

That 7 day period doesn't sound very encouraging really.

    My modest contribution here:

    1) Since we are talking about distribution, why not include the practice of providing a free mirror? Even if the link's durability is shorter, it is still a valuable option.

    2) Another possibility would be to do the same thing that portals that use 100% free links does (I can't cite the previous example I believe!): Some of them provide 4 completely free download options (with speeds ranging from 5mb/ - 30mb/s)!. Honestly, this is the most efficient way to distribute links. For me, in an ideal scenario, I would like audioz to adopt a similar practice. The biggest problem is that the uploaders need to make some money, so I don't know if this system would give them anything back, but thinking about accessibility, I don't see anything better!

MEGA shared their transparency report where they record 230 million registered users storing 107 billion files.[

MEGA (recursive acronym for Mega Encrypted Global Access) is a file hosting service founded in 2013. Uploaded files can be made available ("shared") to other users, even those who are not registered. Kim Dotcom founded the service and was in a leading position until August 2013. Since then, the company has increasingly distanced itself from Dotcom. It is considered a successor to Megaupload.

As long as NitroFlare isn't picked this time - it's completely blocked in the UK.

Let's take it from an uploader's point of view first. There is no cost, it's easy to create, and it is totally anonymous.

Then from a downloader's point of view. If you are after one of the files, it will encourage you to grab it whilst you can. If will d/l as fast as your internet speeds allow. Big files (over100mb) there are 30 days to get them.

Also, bear in mind it isn't 30 days from upload. It is 30 days of continuous inactivity that will wipe it. So whilst there are people grabbing it, it will stay there.

Sure, after it is erased then I would suggest the uploader doesn't bother with that file again on that site, but like I said up there.. it encourages you to d/l whilst it is there.

Nitroflare is 20kb . Gofile is 20Gb . which would you prefer?

Everyone loved Zippy.. They are very similar

Site like Katfile, Nitroflare and Rapidgator pays a tiny amount to the uploaders when someone downloads their files and there's nothing wrong with it if the uploaders prefer such sites. They don't owe us anything, yet they are benevolent enough to choose sites that also allows free download and not strictly premium only. Does Gofile do the same?
