So i've bought metatune and was very dissapointed it sounds worse than autotune pro 9 which is what im currently using for my vocals i know autotune is 500 dollars and metatune is only 300 and something with the ilok usb but still i noticed it doesnt catches notes as well as autotune does and that is a huge flaw autotune is much more snappy and detecs the notes you are singing way better i wont be buying any more products from slate digital and i advise you to not buy their products unless you want cheaper tools for a not so much cheaper price im really dissapointed to those that dont have slate digital plugins you aint missing out too much marketing and not good end results

You should actually download a trial version before you buy something and then test the plugin thoroughly.
I've read a bit and many people are very happy and find it better and easier than Autotune.

If you don't like the product anymore, try to sell it second-hand. You learn from your mistakes and many other software users have already paid the price, they have also bought products that didn't work properly or didn't meet expectations. So you're not alone in this.

Yes, Slate Digital has aggressive marketing, it's an American company, but you don't have to buy their products.

    Metatune - Cons

    - no formant correction
    - no MIDI control
    - iLok account required and trial version only with account details (credit card / Paypal)
    - Very high latency (over 13 thousand samples at 48kHz!) under normal operation, but fortunately there’s a low latency mode that only adds 127 samples.

Slate Digital - it's the one of the most transient smearing effects on the market. Blind test them - you will hear.

Some Slate products are VERY good.
But i found some very suspect too.

Like their FGX 1 plugin (didnt tested the 2).
It was smashing the transients, just to "boost" them afterward by turning a knob ... unacceptable for a mastering grade plugin.

Like Tone2 and their AkustiX plugin full of psycho acoustic tricks, totally ruining transients AND stereo image (like almost all Tone2 products btw).

I doubt slate digital will release an update to metatune for free like a metatune pro that fixes the notes snapping and adds a graph mode so i will sell it , i aint happy with my purchase and i don't think slate digital will give me my money back they lost a costumer they should work more on their software and less on marketing

My suspicion with Slate is that some things they make are very cared for and labored over, and some are very quickly rushed out to make the whole subscription package feel more complete.

But Slate himself isn't even developing with the company anymore right? Or is that even true?

Same. I tried the R2R version of Virtual Mix Rack and uninstalled about 2 years ago because there's no chance i'll be buying their stuff. Overpriced and overprotected.
