hi,i have akg k712 headphones,i was about to download a profile for eq,theres an option for 712 or 712 pro
anyone know whats the difference in the 2 phones? i googled it but couldnt see comparisons

I got K702, so can't tell on K712 and K712 Pro exactly, but from my previous tests it depends more on the choice of ear cups/cushions (or how you call it), so just download both and use whatever will sound flatter to you

 

its just the profile is slightly different for both models so dont want to apply the incorrect one.like im wondering does it say pro on the headphone?
if it did,then id know mine isnt the pro model

how u meant to know which sounds flatter?
if one sounds better that surely dosent mean flatter.
then if that case go for one that sounds worse?
why are there so many minefields to actually stop me making music!( or should i say,thing i find to make me think they stopping me make music!)

There is no difference. It's one and the same headphone, not two different ones.

 

If you look at just what each of the equalizer curves are going to actually apply, the Pros correction will be less steep. 3dB more correction between 3K and 4K using the Dekoni Sheepskin earpads. They are not wildy different, and you could just pay attention to that area a little more.
Personally, I would rather start with the under-correction, than an over.

I have the K712 pros. Got them during the pandemic for around $250(i look at the price now and im shocked af lol). These are insane headphones. Insane levels of clarity. The stereo image is great. the one knock i have is that the low end isnt super present but its meant to be an engineers headphones and not necessarily a consumer/producer headphone. If you have the money for it, get it.

 

What minefields are these then? Can you describe what stops you from making music?
