Why don't you demo it? You put in your iLok ID and download the demo, which is fully functional for a month. I'd recommend you do them one at a time that way, so you really have a chance to learn each one well enough to see if you want to buy it.

Compare it with Fabfilter Pro-L, if that is your normal daily driver limiter.

 

Because it may fit your workflow better. Gotta work with it to find out.

 

There are a lot of good limiters today. Check out FabFilter Pro - L2 and this one is also very good -

I would definitely suggest a demo, especially because of the calendar. You could use it for free until Black Friday. They will have better sale prices then anyway. Even if they do not have the same specific deal on the Limiter, email them after you see the Black Friday sales. They will normally match their own sales price and give you a discount code to apply.

 

Personally for me, Oxford limiter with Pro L2 is a killer combo, i try a lot of limiters, i really like the invisible limiter v1, Weiss by softube, and of course limitless by DMG, but for all that things that i do, the Oxford and Fabfilter is my go combo for quick clean and loud Masters. Also for me the GUI is Nice, It is easy to use and does not eat resources like other limiters.

 

I've always wanted Oxford Limiter but now I think there are so many options (and so many limiters I have) that I'm not sure I need it. However, this thread did tip me off to Oxford Drum Gate on sale which I am definitely picking up immediately

 

IMO you don't need it and would benefit more from Voxengo - Elephant

 

Oxford Limiter has proven itself so much over time. I agree, there are several other which may be "go-to" limiters but I think it's still among top 5 of all times.

The best Limiter if I have to pick just one, not the more versatile, but can be used (somewhat) in any major style.

I have a handful of Limiters, but many are for character and/or summing, on busses and groups (like the VCL-515, El Juan, or ADC1,) but for a clean Limiter-limiter, Elephant is it—and you can push it to dumb limits before it breaks. Plus, the behind the scenes controls, which I find too many people unaware of, can get it to mimic nearly every other Limiter that I've tried. And credit to DMGAudio, Limitless is savage, but you see a lot of the same "advanced" parameters in elephant.
Sonnox is nice, I just personally can't rave about it since Elephant allows me to make small tweaks that can be crucial in the end game.

They used to never do sales on anything like they have recently. They are bigger discounts than most developers offer during their "Going Out of Business Sale". They are like the insane Plugin Alliance sale prices, but for plugins people have ever actually paid full price for.

 

NO idea why anyone would buy. I do not use legit plugins because I fucking hate "protections" bullshit hanging off my machine or crapping up my OS. Last time this was released (sonnox) to the scene was ~2017(pc) and it had issues. When it gets released to scene again I'll grab it. Not before. In the interim, you can either use the 2017 (sonnox) version or use any one of 10-20 newer limiters that do the job adequately. Save the cash for something else and your machine from useless dongles and your OS from crap "protections" junkware.
