so i just downloaded kontakt but i have no libraries.. i saw someone linked a download to an application called Add Libraries for MacOS which was supposed to give me all the libraries for Kontakt. i open it and it asks me to choose the "library" file for kontakt. i just see native instruments > kontakt 8 > edited samples presets and ir samples. where am i supposed to find this library file? please remember that the software im using that has the files SPECIFICALLY requests a library file, to put everything into. i cannot split each library individually, its just one big thing. if anyone knows anything please help.

When you launch the Add Libraries For MacOS program, it asks for your password. After that, it asks you for a library and opens a finder window. Go to wherever you keep your Kontakt libraries, and select the top level folder for the library you want to add. Don't go inside the folder, so it should just be the folder name of whatever library you are adding.

In that same finder, you can also select multiple folders with all the Kontakt libraries inside those. Shift+ highlight all the ones you want to add. Select the folders at that top level without opening them. It will batch add all of them. If something reports a bad .ninct for that library, skip it. You can correct those with KLU later.

 

Have you downloaded any library? Kontakt is just a sampler and you need a library to work with it. There are hundreds of libraries available. Go to sister site and download one. You can search on torrent sites too if you don't have a debrid account. Once you download the file follow the directions given by @clone in above post.

 

here's the problem, i dont have any kontakt library folder. it just says presets, edited samples, and ir samples. it says it requires a file with an .nicht, but there is none to be found.

Check your private messages. You need an ninct, but you might also need a wallpaper for each one. Do that part in KLU.

Add Library for MacOS is great, because it is fast and simple. But for anything that isn't already setup perfectly, you need a bigger feature set. So that's KLU.
