    I hate to say this, but... I like 2023 better! :dunno:
    Simpler, more direct, honest... I think now you overthought it.
    It's not really my thing though so take that with a grain of salt.

    Oh that's quite alright. I overcomplicate a lot of my songs, and usually it works to my benefit
    For example, #NONSTOPDISCO remains my highest charting song on Spotify.

    Taste aside, I wonder why in music we don't look like painters and revisit the same track more often after release. I'm not saying it would be a better workflow, I just wonder why it's so common in painting and so uncommon in music.

    In this particular case, I also prefer the 2023 version because of its drier style. I like the synths there a lot.

    I do, I have tweaked and even re-recorded songs years after the fact. But I think for the most part musicians tend to have a vision in their head before they start and when you nail it you move on because you have new ideas. Otherwise you wind up only producing a couple tracks every decade because you can't stop tinkering LOL
