I think the easiest way is to make an official request. Many more users will see this and may then be able to help. And you can also officially offer what you have bought and want to share. I agree with you that the “PN way” doesn't always work. Last edited: Oct 30, 2024
WTF are you on about? Now, I'm not saying you are "them" but... Why does this sound like a familiar argument? If you don't take the time to understand the notes eh..? Like "why are almost all tutorials for beginners?" Exactly what magical knowledge and "valuable resources" are being witheld from you? You can't possibly need anything that isn't freely available. The people on this forum and AudioZ are actually THE most generous of ALL Earth based audio forums. Ask a question and it's highly likely to be answered. Request help and you'll probably receive it. Not everyone has the time to give, or the inclination, that's down to the individual. Some of us even come here for a laugh, because we enjoy the lack of stuffiness and the wit of (some of) the members. Sorry, but what you claim sounds a bit entitled and slightly paranoid to me. Coming on here and launching a generalised attack on members because there are the odd ones that don't want to share their personal resources with you is quite frankly a bit insulting. Why not pop over to VI-Control, Gearsluts or KVR and see how far you get with requests to share personal resources. Egos? Just wait until you meet real life humans. You'll be sadly disappointed. They all have them. EDIT: Ok, so you reveal the "valuable resources" that you so desperately "need". SAMPLES! PRESETS! F*****G SAMPLES! How about you make your own if you need them so desperately? Oh, and when you've spent thousands of hours tweaking, refining and perfecting them, don't forget to come back and share them all with the community. Also, any commercially viable tunes that you create, don't forget to make those freely available too. Last edited: Oct 30, 2024
Oh so just because some are not sharing the same working boots! Doesn't mean it should effect the way your produce! Should never blame the tools if its not working for you.
I noticed this behaviour a few times. Now when someone ignores me when I request something, I just buy it and share on ss if these people refuse to share, then alright, I'll do this
"Share" is not the word for what you are describing. You are asking people to "Trade". That summarizes what you are getting wrong about the entire thing. When you "share" something, you do not expect anything back. The other people "sharing" aren't expecting anything back either. At least, not directly. That's probably part of why "Trade" threads cannot be posted anymore. "Trading" of course implies, you are not acquiring something to "supply" it either. It means you are doing exactly what you mention in the first post. You are buying only unshared stuff, and keeping it to yourself in hopes of getting something directly for it in return. Otherwise, you would just acquire it and immediately supply it, so someone else doesn't do the same thing and upload it first.
Personally, im disgusted by the behavior! I saw one user say that they had Bitcoin, and other crypto currencies, and yet, they have REFUSED to share it with me! shame on them!
Excellent response. 2 turntables and a microphone, bro. Jesus, I walk into music showrooms occasionally and find the whole experience depressing. Big knobs, flashing lights, bling. And then I might go home and listen to, say, an early Psychedelic Furs or Zeppelin (or whatever) album and drift back into reality. Machine music kinda sucks the big one.
I secretly created a few kickdrum samples and never told anyone. They are very shitty. DM me I'll send them Last edited: Oct 31, 2024
I notice a couple of presumptions in the original OP message, being that everything that is out on the market is automatically 'made available' by teams to put them out on AZ, it's not. The process of lifting off any protective measures, I am told, is complicated. Another presumption is that if you don't share, you automatically are 'selfish'. Well, presuming that the people who develop plugins and soundbanks have to make a living from that, it's the idea that you eventually buy the stuff that is out on AZ as soon as you find yourself making use of their stuff on a daily base. (Yes, I bought all the plugins and soundbanks that I use that way) not paying them for that could also be marked 'selfish'. And last but not least, creativity and the creative process takes place in you, not in the material you have. Musicians like Ed van Halen could take any shitty guitar and make it sound like a million dollar instrument because he put his creativity and musicality in it. That made it sound so great. Well...I think that about sums it up
Funny... One day you'll realize that it was always easy, that you were overcomplicating things, and you'll come back to square one with a better understanding, totally cleansed of the "there's a secret I don't know" curse. You don't need the full UAD suite to make music btw (I'm gonna keep hiding it from you )
If you can't make excellent music that people like with the vast amount of software, samples and presets on the sister site than i'm sorry to say that you're the problem not other people.
There is a saying that a poor workman blames their tools, so yes I agree. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ @manhill - A lot of people share their time, knowledge, resources and experience on here. Sometimes people want to listen, sometimes they do not, and sometimes they are not interested and some or many people's opinions or offers are taken or ignored. Ego, hubris, arrogance or whatever label you wish has nothing to do with that sharing. You can have no ego and not share simply because you do not want to and vice-versa. You cannot tar everyone with the same brush. Also, some people, and this is normal, will share most things, but not all things, and expecting anyone to do what you may do as good as your intentions hopefully are, is not realistic. We're all different.
I recommend reading and learning something about conflict resolution/conflict management. You seem to be a bit frustrated about the rejection of your preset/sample offers to other users and that you were not able to get your way. You have therefore entered into an internal conflict with yourself and the problem demands a solution and thus salvation. As you were not able to solve the problem, you make it very easy for yourself to blame others. Unfortunately, this is a self-deception and does not lead to satisfaction. I hope you read all the comments here. People mean well by you.
I have a disused car sitting in my driveway. I'm more than happy to share that if anyone needs a lift home!
