I eeked this one out under the gun and not the last day or near it as is my M.O. It's a little kitty drama based on my friend's late, very great pussycat named Puppy Kittyhead. She was pure white, sky blue eyed, could jump up a thin 7 foot wooden fence and nail the landing with perfect balance like it was nothing at all, survived 15 years in coyote filled Topanga Canyon and her favorite thing was to be picked up by the tail and hung upside down as I rubbed her belly until she fell asleep. She was an adept hunter and I never saw her miss her mark. She was an amazing athlete, a freak of nature and a good cuddly friend. She is dearly missed.

ay thats some beautiful shit @OOM great job homie; very majestic yo and i love the tones, they remind me of wind chimes and singing bowls and theyre mixed beautifully. i especially like how the resonance of the singing bowl sounding synth at one point, swells up and surrounds the others; thought that was pretty dope how it blended - i really enjoyed your take fam and great sound design, was like stardust

Hey everyone!

I'm excited to share my track "MicMac" for Non-Contest #5. This piece sits at the intersection of IDM, experimental, abstract, and psychedelic styles, and it represents a sonic journey inspired by the theme "microcosm makes macrocosm." I aimed to explore deconstructed rhythms and evolving textures, creating the sense of small elements merging to form a greater, immersive whole.

In the process, I discovered a new creative side and made my very first music video to go along with the track. Creating the visuals to match this abstract, psychedelic soundscape was a captivating experience. The video reflects the same layered, evolving ambiance of the music, syncing with each progression.

I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I did.

 

Excellent mec ! I love the destruct forming structures. It goes deep, beginning in the vast emptiness of an eery space, then progressively drums are put forward, rythm beats and the rest evolves around it.

Hi everyone,

Atonal, rhythmic piece, played almost exclusively on the timbre and dynamics of the instruments.
3 cats samples. (L-C-R).
The central sound is filtered by Speakerphone (32bit), small radio from the 50s/60s.

Right now I'm testing the Trillian and various Kontakt libraries, both to find interesting double bass sounds.
To obtain a more metallic sound, I worked on medium-high/high frequencies and with Quad compressors.

The instruments are driven by Reaktor random sequencers (MRC 1.32, MRC 83).

 

@emmapeel it's everywhere all at once ! What a spacialisation.. amazing ! You don't know from where it started, nor where it really ends, only thing you can possibly know is that it's happening, going forward, following a time there is no way to tell for sure how fast, or slowly is it going ! Excellent piece as well, I can't hear these purrings other than snare rolls. They provide rythm in a very creative way while the bass stabs ; "te tiennent en haleine, tout en ne sachant sur quel pied dancer" as we say in french. You can't help but feel the suspens while the sweet kitty purrs in your ears that, in the end, everything's gonna be alright anyway. I agree with this message ! Another excellent admission, thank you !

i think i was 15 when a teacher told us in class that animals had no feelings or emotions, and if we ever felt otherwise it was nothing but a trick of our own emotional brain. Hahaha. We may be short sighted in our own ways sometimes, but some people do live in a much darker place than actually blind people.

Microcosm makes Macrocosm

Hello guys.
I post my entry here.
I enjoyed making this track, and also I like the art so much!
I felt some Asian vibes from the art, and cosmos is there.
Then the music style went a sort of ambient music.

(I wanted to entry earlier but SoundCloud didn't let me create an account.)

 

@Katakura this one is full of life, definitely cosmic ! A way i feel music is that each note or impulse basically, makes like a dropplet that explodes and ripples. The big picture here feels very harmonious, while sometimes changing form completely, probably due to the root note. I love it's groovyness, while the "sorta-clipping" in the calm moments feels like gazing at shadowy, distant stars, until the bells hit you, then you feel that the stars are right there, always were. Again, really dig the time signature/groove/drums, the dropplet symphony very nicely blent altogether. Thank you !

Shittttt I'm working like 60 hours a week. Gotta a picture in mind though ... fuck I might have to pass this round I'm a mail carrier and the next two months for me is totally screwed. Do not join post office worst job I've ever had by a long shot. 6 days a week 12 hour days.
