their mini sound more moogish than gforce or monark to me .
    is matrix their best ?
whats you favorite cs80 emu ?....d16 cs80 would be cool ...
are the new additions better than the classic old ones ?
their arp2600 isnt best emu out there isnt it ?
is their realism guiwise counterproductive for some of their synths and the gui worklow ?

or do u use just diva, repro, legend or softube .

I'm going with the Synclavier... because as I understand it it's literally the exact software that ran on the hardware unit simply ported onto your PC. A quarter million + dollar machine for a few hundred bucks.

Pigments, Acid, Synthi, Buchla, CMI, Augmented Series, Analog Lab

Pigments - extremely versatile. you could almost get by with just pigments.
Acid - its fun and gnarly.
Synthi - interesting and unexpected results
Buchla - interesting and unexpected results
CMI - useful because its different than the rest of them, and has classic sounds (orch stab, sarrah etc) fun if you dive under the hood
Augmented - different than the rest of the catalog. cool stuff
Analog Lab - even tho it just draws from the entire catalog, if you have arturia midi controller, the automap feature, loading random presets etc is a huge plus.

The rest of them all sound the same. I own, have owned, or have spent time with a large portion of their emulation catalog, and none of them come close really. Theres a few that do, but as a whole they all sound the same to each other. Sure, maybe different results from different methods of programming. Modular is not going to sound like juno etc. But all the polyphonic analog synths sound the same.

I also have a real soft spot for the CS80 V even though it's technically probably not the most perfectly accurate clone out there... it has a vibe :dunno:

I'm happy just using an Arturia midi controller connected to Ableton. That way I don't have to choose. I can pick whichever vst that happens to inspire on the day.

Yeah I'm a fan of the Buchla, the CMI and the Modular V. The Matrix-12 V is also pretty characterful as well, which is what I think these emulations are all about.

none, until Arturia has optimized the DSPcode/code and found a better solution for their million pngs.

    otherwise: Pigments looks quite good.

Honestly, I like them all. And I don't give a flying cocksucking motherfucking jumping jellyfish son of a bitch fuck if they don't sound like the real deal. To me they're fun to play with, just like my rectal cavity.

I think they're mostly all good, though a bit clunky, but that's Arturia for you.

That said, I've got a huge soft spot for the CZ V since it does sound just as my old Casio does (sans noise) and it's slightly easier to use. But yes, the sound is excellent, kind of like a softer version of a DX-7.

Prophet V (cpu efficient and sounds close enough to the other contenders that are praised everywhere), and Mini. Then maybe the Buchla and the Korg. My problem with them is the exaggerated skeuomorphism - it makes them boring to program -, the plethora of png files installed, and also agree with the impression that most of the analog emulations sound somewhat similar (but not bad at all).

maybe a dumb question but the cz and matrix are just louder resource hogs with no meaning then ?

You can also look at it this way: many synthesizers just don't sound that great and didn't sell well back then. Then Arturia came along with their TAE system. Taste is a completely different thing. Ask yourself which synthesizer you have played the most in recent years.

Gotta love the Continental, now there's a great organ. I've been toying around with the new(ish) Korg's version and it's really a toss-up but the Korg seems lighter so I'm using that now.

But yeah, the organs are great in Arturia's repertoire.

they abgekupfert the naming style marketing from applied acoustics back in the day .
but every other devs same as applied acoustic smoked them in that realm ...
cs80 is miles appart from original but like smeg said it has its vibe and i dont now a better emu .
they should use cs80 style gui not 1:1 looking gui,its not good that way imho.

the electric pianos and organs are playing in another ballpark sound and guiwise in my book .
best wurli i kno came up in reason 7.5 or 6.5 or so.

i really hope there will be more single releases .
if they just would listen more to customers and that png thing is nothing than stupid .
but nowadays like in many other product sorts its all bout gaining more beginners and get them as customers ....but hell that png drama is really beyond everything ,whats up there in their headquarters to go on that route ...

im a mangler not designer , better not start this eh eh
