You may have a look at reFuse Lowender or maybe also Waves RenBass.
If I remember well they works with 2 different approaches, Lowender generate a subharmonic signal and blend it to the original material,
while RenBass works on the upper harmonic, useful for making signals with high bass content to be more intelligible on systems with small woofers,
giving you the impression that you hear frequencies that the speaker can't actually reproduce well, in fact you're hearing the upper first harmonic.
Do your own tests and see if these suits your needs

Dunno if VOG really does any magic compared to standard bass enhancement plug-ins but you may find these two useful.

VoG is a resonant HIGH-pass filter with a variable slope.
Any EQ can do what it does.
VoG ISN'T a sub generator.

If that's the case it seems to me that you can get better result with a good pultec emu and the push-pull trick

On Pultec-like EQ, there is a Cut AND a Boost.

Most ppl will wonder why there are Cut and Boost at the same time ?
It is because Cut filter low end, but Boost add gain, but a little upper the Cut freq.

So when you Cut and Boost at the same time, you create a sort of resonant high pass, but with a fixed frequency.

And this is the origin of Bark of Dog :
VOG is dead

And about Lowender and RenBass...they are completly different. And it is discussed thousand times over the net...i know, because i wrote this at least 10 times myself alone

Lowender, like Waves LoAiR (lol), DBX 120A (very nice)... are SUB GENERATORS. They create sub frequencies FROM UPPER frequencies.
Waves RenBass and MaxxBass are SUB "REPLACORS". They create upper frequencies FROM LOWER frequencies.

Totally opposed means and result
There is even a MaxxBass rack for live use (this is a secret). It is used to release some pressure/energy from subwoofers, while maintaining a general "bass feel", like the plugin.


And VOG, BOD are just resonant high pass filters.There are some hardware filters like this for car tuning
And even "ORION MaxxBass" for cars, too
