some tracks left as is (the don cherry is basically avant jazz mana for DJs, as is), some definitely not left as is. would love to hear comments and suggestions. i know parts are rough, particularly the sibilants from the overprocessed Derbyshire, and there's probably some bass stuff that gets too far out of phase. i don't even have reliable monitoring equipment so i'd love to hear anyone's advice. there's probably some extra EQ and M/S stuff i could do to unclutter things. happy to share REAPER project files if anyone wants to have fun with it

i'm not confident that i did them justice, but it came together pretty quickly and i thought people might like hearing some tunes that rarely make it into a set. really, i can't recommend Don Cherry's Chenrezig enough as a DJ tool. i didn't even touch the wav file. it was the perfect rhythmic and melodic complement, with lots of space to let other tracks do their thing

one thing that didn't make it into this version- i filtered the snares on Chenrezig and used them to trigger synthetic snares instead, which made for some pretty mad snare rushes a la Bjork's Hunter. not sure if i want to go in that direction though.
