Hi everyone, just shared an open source creators-oriented playbook (= optimizer) project here.

All experienced Windows' optimizators are asked to contribute.

    Thanks in advance !

Meanwhile you better looking for "Background apps" (Win10 Search bar) and disable as much as you needs.

ok guys, this thread is gold to me. I spent a lot of time reading all the 5 pages and I have some questions

My goal is win 10, not 11.
My DAW machine is totally offline. I am not worrried about security.

Over the last 4 years I've done the tweeks manually and that consumes a few days to get it running good.
I need a fresh start now

AtlasOs is the best way to go? (thats what I understood)
Can I use my Original licence, that I bought from MS, on the install? Or another tool?
the 22H2 is the best or earlier versions?

    thank you for your help.

Not for me, unfortunally (and it's not recommended by many others)...

...my suggestion is to start with something less "aggressive" such as Creosynth.

Thank you very much. I'm gonna do a deep dive on Creosynth now to understad it.

Just installed AtlasOS after watching this thread for the past two days. I barely notice any difference, so far. My system is reasonably decent, though, so that might be why. Anyway, I'm happy to report that the process was easy and went smoothly.

hello guys, yesterday I've done a clean install of Win 10 (22h2) and apllied the AtlasOs playbook.
I noticed a small difference (for the better) when compared with my manual optization (intel i7, 7th gen, 16gb RAM)
    zero problems until now.
My hardware synths and midi controllers are working great.
FL Studio and VSTs are working great.

I liked it a lot but I would never use it online.
    my machine is totally offline.

I'll wait until creosynth gets to v1.0 to try it too

    cheers

Do I favor for yourself, and DON'T use Glary Utilities, I've spent like 3 month with no clue why my new pc suddenly had a blue screen when I use a DAW or any video audio applications ! this the program is a devil, may or may not agree but this is my experiences with this app , so be careful!

Congrats! Achieving this while keeping the network (for audio, midi, data transfer) without compromising stability is pretty much the best that can be done with 22H2.

I have been using NTLite for several years to configure, minimize and tweak Windows before installation. My latest offline (with network) version of Windows 10 22H2 runs with 32 processes and is perfectly stable.

I have a small update. I disabled some additional third-party background processes manually using the free version of CCleaner. Processes from Nvidia, Intel, and Acer's Nitrosense (which seemed to be the most effective.) After a restart, I've noticed a significant increase in performance. I'm not very technically oriented like some of you, but it seems like Nitrosense may have been competing/interfering with Atlas' built-in power management. Now that Atlas is in full control, things are different, for the better.

    It's so exciting! :-D :-D :-D

As already said to @SacyGuy in the other 3ad, keep in mind that Atlas is a gaming-oriented custom, so you must try *all* applications/plugins you need before using it for production goals !
If it don't 100% work for your needs, then switch to Creosynth - that is an AME Wizard playbook too - instead.

I should have waited a day or two, bahaha! Thank you for the update.

May I ask: As a normal, standard, average, general user of Windows who doesn't know very much about the operating system at this stage, should I install “standard” 24H2, or “LTSC” 24H2? I have both available to me. I see that Atlas does not specify "LTSC." Does that matter? Please, help me out. I don't know.

    Thanks.

LTSC stays for Long-Term Servicing Channel and is an enterprise-oriented version of Windows by Microsoft.

Even if it's pretty stripped-down and responsive, pesonally I had some bad experiences with W10 LTSC and multimedia creation apps.

But it's more than OK for office tasks, of course.

Again, try it yourself and deep test apps you need on it.

Last but not least, Atlas was NOT LTSC-based (if I remember well) when was a custom ISO, but now it's a playbook.

    EDIT:
A bit old but interesting LTSC: What is it, and when should it be used? @ Windows IT Pro Blog
