I would love to, but my internet connection is so bad that if I played a pentatonic blues lick the other side would hear a 15 minute long Aphex Twin track.

I’ve jammed a few times with a local friend in town. Worked better than expected.

With Asio Link Pro in lan I can eliminate almost all glitches within 25 to 33ms (2-13ms jitter), even if packet stream is about 1.5Mbit/s and just a fraction of ethernet network capability, never tried in wan, for sure will be worse.
Comparing the analog audio output of both systems they seem fine, over 45ms I begin to hear discrepancies.

From the Blue Cat's clip it seems that latency (11ms) over wan is more than enough low to allow to play fluently, great asset.
If I could try it within lan, I should expect latency dropping down considerably even more than 11ms.

looks like faderhub connects directly to the other machine's copy of faderhub, there should be no involvement of bc servers

That guy is Eli Krantzberg. How do you figure he uses software from Sister Site? That guy gets so much free stuff (NFRs) from developers hoping to get a review or tutorial from him, whatever. I wouldn't be shocked if so, but I doubt it.

BC's page says not to use Wifi, ethernet only. Like Audiogridder. Over the internet to other locations is unrealistic to maintain any decent latency. as already mentioned.

thats what i thought aswell and it would also be cheaper for BC.

WIFI introduced a lot of latency, which you dont want, hence Ethernet prefered.

    Absolutely yes.
The address they're referring is the static address of the machine and you can see the BC upnp switch (I personally disabled upnp), if disabled you have to forward ports in your gateway router.
