I have a few problems with the new Kontakt 8 from Bobdule
All my libraries are displayed in the old view but not in the new browser, why is that and how can I fix the problem?
In the new Kontakt 8 when I click on Launch Library Tool it does not open, instead a win message with which app the program should be opened .

 

Honestly you should wait a few weeks to get Kontakt 8, there will be a lot of patches and problems this early.

 

I found a working fix to get all libraries working in KONTAKT 8 (Bob_Dule version).
If you create a folder and cut and paste all the .json files from path: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Native Instruments\installed_products to a new folder…
THEN use the “Kontakt_Button.exe” button in the KONTAKT 8 folder to point to your downloaded KONTAKT libraries, it should register the paths. Once this is done, you should now have new *.json files in the above path (Native Instruments\installed_products).
Re-open KONTAKT 8 and your missing libraries SHOULD be there.

Dave I'm having the issue where ALL my libraries are working in K8, APART from 3, it just says libraries missing in the left pane. Nothing I can think of has fixed this. Redownloaded library, made custom nicnt file, deleted registry entries. Deleted and replaced service centre files for the libraries, replaced xml file. Nothing. It's cinewinds pro, nucleus and symphobia. Any ideas mate?

What about for mac?

 

I have tried this, my libraries seem to be displayed in the old list but not in the new browser

 

I'm on Mac and I found a similar fix as quoted above
Goto to your shared folder and open the Native Instruments folder...then DELETE the installed_products folder with the .json files.

Macintosh HD:\Users\Shared\Native Instruments\installed_products

Restart Kontakt 8 and you should get a new installed_products folder which should update your missing libraries.

This worked for me on Monterey OSX.

My libraries automatically showed up in the new browser but I had to load kontakt 8 and give 5 minutes to find all the libraries and they loaded 1 by 1.

My suggestion is to check where you libraries are.

If it helps, I have k7 portable by bob dule and added ALL my libraries through k7 portable library manager. Then batch resaved them using portable standalone. I didn't have to add them with k8 add library.

 

i already had R2R version installed v7.10.6...today i also installed Kontakt 8 BobDule alongside the Kontakt 7 R2Rversion..no problems at all,libraries showing up.
So big thanks to R2R and Bob Dule ....More Love Mo Fyah

 

the NKS view browser only show NKS libraries. (only test SNPID 000 is showing here)

the database build is super long to scan all, reading regedit first and writing the json files when scan done.
the tools button launch was broken in 8, i changed the call.

I've tried deleting the json and all the other suggestions and theres still a few missing from the new view.

Bobdule Kontakt 8 user here. Two problems, all else works great.

1. Deleted Kontakt 7, installed K-8. Kontakt 8 does not auto-recognize any midi instrument tracks created by Kontakt 7 in any project from last 2 years. Painful.

2. I enjoy the 'Classic' view. All libraries visible to the left. Bobdule Kontakt 8 will not default to this view when selected.

Any Ideas?

For some odd reason, there's no folder in that location inside public documents on my setup. Win 10 22H2. Not sure where else to find those .json files. I'll try a deep scan on HDD.

 

Hi, I'm on Windows 10 using Kontakt 8 ((Bob_Dule version). I moved some libraries to a new drive, and tried re-adding the libraries again using the Kontakt_Button. However these libraries now appear as missing in Kontakt 8.

I cannot find the folder "installed_products" that's supposed to hold .json files in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Native Instruments\installed_products, hence I'm not able to delete any .json files to reset the libraries. I've attached a screenshot of my Documents folder.

I did a deep scan, but the .json files are not showing up either.

Can anyone advise me here please? Thank you in advance.

I came across this thread since I had just added two libraries but one was showing "missing" in Kontakt 8 Bobdule, and none of these tips really worked simply so I registered just to save you and everyone a hassle with THE SOLUTION!

If your libraries are missing and it won't show up no matter what, simply find and open the according .json file of that library in "Notepad", and all you have to do is to edit the file and add/correct the path of the library.
Note: Make sure you write double backslashes if you're copying the address from your browser.

Example:
{"ContentDir":"D:\\VSTs\\Impact Soundworks Shreddage\\Shreddage 3 Abyss","ContentVersion":"1.0.1"}

I highly recommend you also install the search app "EVERYTHING" to find whatever on your computer, wherever it is as fast as you type the file name! Believe me once you have it, you can't live without it! Especially if you have a huge archive or need to tweak and change stuff in deep directories you have no idea about (which you know happens a lot!)!
