Honstely, I completely disagree. I love the new look. Event looks was one of the biggest problems in arrange view to my taste. Events were visualy merging together, highlighting was barely visible and so on. It looks amazing now, better the Logic.

 

About money: The Cubase update as ancient user was never over 150$.
About S1 v7 update: I find it crazy that a user like me who pays since version 4, has to spend the same money as a new user…this is a no respect to old clients. I feel a bit pissed off about it..and i think i have the 200% of the reason! This is only a lamer commercial move from Fender…my decision is taken. Warez is not an alternative for me since i dont want to be in troubles with unknow cracked problems but i’m enjoying the R2R message with the NFR release …is like you deserve it ;)

 

That's why I dislike working with StudioOne.
I get spike when using the studio one browser, drag proeq bands. And then there are theses 'needle tiny clicks' ugly, simply ugly.
BTW Presonus is aware oif the spikes. Many reported them and got feedback that they were logged as bug.

 

I just read about their update policy - you have to pay 200$ if it's not an update from a precious version.

 

Actually I really like the new audio visualiz. I don't know based on what metrics you make these strange claims. The corner blocks helps grabbing them easier for fading. Your point about contrast is totally incorrect. It's very clear and nothing has changed there.

Yes, the new look of clips/waveforms is really bad.
I made some screenshots, left side V7, right side V6.
First picture tracks 4 and 5 have different colors in comparison V7 to V6. Also the colors of the arranger window and grid are differnt.

In V7 i like the highlighted clips much more and if you zoom it to a smaller state it shows only a mono waveform. But these washout blurred look is terrible.

this thing does not work on windows 11 it tells me i need update windows but you see we in kengsington palace are using older windows what is this!!!!

 

The washed out blurred look might work if tracks and other elements become sharp when you click on them, that may be an intelligent design choice, bringing into focus what you're working on while pushing other elements into the background, similar to how our eyes work (like foveated rendering in VR) but of course then you're hunting around the screen and it all looks blurry until you select something and that isn't going to work.

Can someone tell me how r2r managed to crack and release a program that hasn't even been featured yet? At first I thought it was fake, but I got curious and downloaded it, and as expected, a launcher was added and there were some design changes. How did this happen?

 

Looks very much like a point update rather than a major one. Of the new features only the clip launcher is of interest to me.
Cheeky upgrade pricing. You used to pay about $150 and get two years of updates. Now you'll pay the same and get one year.
I think I'll be "borrowing" a copy rather than buying one, at least to start with.

I'm astonished that it's already on the sister site, several weeks before the legit release!

It was likely provided to them from a beta tester. We had the uncracked version on AudioZ before the cracked release.

 

I couldn't agree with you more, the new audio display mode when I put it to max it turns into a linear waveform, which makes it especially hard to deal with when dealing with some very small clicks in an audio editing situation. For a long time I turned off the smooth audio display mode, if presonus doesn't offer to go back to the very beginning of the waveform mode I'm sure a lot of seasoned veteran users won't buy it, the new audio display really looks like shit!

 

What are the changes you all observed S1v7 so far in R2R release?

 

Ditching these guys. They started cooking the looney toony macaroonies and want to hang them on our ears.

As my uncle used to say "I can smell the fockery afoot".

No 150$ subscription a year for them. They can do their manicures at cheaper salons.
