From this list it is only antares that use wibu

 

Magix Sequoia is ancient beast DAW, especially its UI, just like old Kong movies.

I don't think it's UAD or Pro Tools. They are really like final bosses. Just as R2R is successful in the piracy business, the information they provide about the magnitude of the wave they've created is just as impressive. If it were one of these, we'd be crushed under Gong right now. If they had cracked any of them, there would be nothing left. I don't think that's the case.

But people say that Reason changed their protectiong system since version 13, they don't use WIBU anymore and switched to their own protection. Hmm...

 

They change their protection from version 12.6 to their own online protection.

 

I don't know, but anyone who is serious about music cares about Pro Tools. After 5344 EQs, 3233 comps, 9178 saturators, and thousands others, is there still a need for plugins? Pro Tools is really all you need now imo.

 

After a decade, Pro Tools is rationally the only object of desire for everyone. And the 2024.6 Ultimate version is sensational. Then everyone can have their own opinion, but Pro Tools is not up for discussion.

 

VSL and McDsp would be great ...

 

For a long time Sequoia has been an alternative to Protools, and quite expensive. I've never seen it used by anyone who did not pay for it.
Many people have a good bit of money wrapped up in it, as far as DAW software goes. I read there are problems at their company and they could be ending Sequoia. If it stays not k'd and that happens, many people could find themselves somewhat screwed. They would probably very much like to at least get the last version unlocked so they can at least continue using something they paid for.

It can load AAX plugins in a wrapper, possibly.

 

Is sequoia really coming out?
I can't believe it. It's the most expensive DAW.

Anyone have any idea why the entire Steinberg lineup got liberated but those Rupert Neve Design Portico bundle that consists 2 plugins still locked.

 

I'd really want to try Sequoia, to learn what it is about. So anyone can give simplified version of a rough comparison of what it has that Wavelab doesnt ?

 

This bundle last update was December 2020 and it is part of unsupported software so i guess they wont update them just to move them to new licensing system
