    Gemini résumé:
it is about the announcement of the new version of Studio One Pro, version 7.

Here are the key points from the video:
    * Studio One Pro 7 is coming on October 9th.

    * It will be available for $199 for new users and $149 for previous Studio One artist version owners.

    * Studio One Pro 7 will include all extensions and virtual instruments, including lead architect, deep flight one, the new deep flight one extended plug-in, audio Batch Converter, and more.

    * There will be three to four major feature releases every year after the launch of Studio One Pro 7.

    * A full year of new feature releases will be included with all licenses and upgrades going forward.

    * Any Studio One version 6 professional Edition license or license upgrade purchased on or after August 1st will get Studio One Pro 7 when it's released on October 9th.

    * Studio One Plus is now called Studio One Pro Plus and is the best way into everything Studio One Pro.

    * The annual plan is still the best value at $179 per year. You can subscribe and save 10% on the price of a Studio One Pro Perpetual license plus you'll get to keep the same full year of new feature releases and annual access to all the cloud-based tools content and loops and samples.

After watching the video, this is the question that comes to mind.

"Hey PreSonus, tell us you want maximum annual revenue without telling us you want maximum annual revenue"

They want to capitalize on the income via subscribers and those that FOMO into paid annual major releases.

At least that's what I surmise from a business perspective. Not that I'm a business-man, by any means.

    Hate the new model.
As a legit user I pay 150 every 2 years for the version updates now I’ll pay 150 every year.

I love how a company knows that there will be exactly four major updates a year. LOL

I like adding features to S1 as much as I like to sit behind a dump truck of semi composted animal waste being dumped. May or may not have a serious look at Harrison in the next few days. But I think I am chained to this thing forever, unfortunately.

Studio one should be free always ! I don't know , Why people paying money for this daw, like speaker monitoring , is really bullshit , PreSonus studio one is a mid level daw , studio one is not be able compared to professional daw like : Logic Pro , Cubase , Pro Tools.
use cubase and enjoying it for all audio process !

Then keep shilling for the DAW of your choice. What made you feel the need to come to a Studio One thread and trash talk it? What a foolish waste of time.

Somehow Luca Pretolisi is able to make Studio One work ok. Perhaps he is just shilling Studio One because they give him an NFR.
The irony of the comment is someone who is doing this trying to talk themselves up for whatever reason, and only end up showing off what they do not know how to use. Too bad it is so prevalent.

I've been rocking S1 since v2, love it until v4 when it peaked. They have never coded the multi-core usage right and every update is more and more bloated IMHO.

This is the Avid model that destroyed Pro Tools reign as the industry standard DAW. Presonus was bought out earlier this and now we are getting the cash grab to bleed the customer base dry offering little in return for the price. I also love how a new user can just pay $199 yet loyal long term Studio One supporters now have to fork over $149... and that will be a yearly $149 upgrade for updates as Presonus said today there will be a new S1 version every year moving forward.

So Presonus plan is for us to pay monthly or yearly, I wish them luck with this jackass plan.

Thankfully S1 v5 does everything I actually need, v6 was a joke of an update and Reaper is just $50 every two versions or about $15 a year at this point. Hell, even Logic is a better deal now, and come to think of it UAD's new DAW is free, lol. Presonus must think we are fools, lol.

Like Avid, Presonus will learn the hard way that customer loyalty and respect go much further today than in the past... we have too many options to take their BS cash grab, lol. I say fuc-em like I did Avid when I sold my PT rig years back.

I love Studio One. I hate to see them go this route.
I'm going to start treating them, and any yearly updating software (Arturia and the like) the way I treat smartphone purchases.

Apple would like you to buy their incremental upgrades every year. I refuse. I'm still using an iphone 8 plus. I will keep using this phone until it stops being useful.

That's kind of where I am with softwares. I'm finally getting over my FOMO. Especially when software companies are seemingly all going the way of Apple. They're not even trying to innovate. If that's the case, I need to wait for years of incremental upgrades in order to see a set of features that are actually worth upgrading for.

As it stands, I still use Studio One because I'm used to it. But I also bought Cubase. It is a very similar DAW imo. And so far it seems to run a little better too.

I'm not a DAW war participant either. I own and use multiple DAWs legit. Different DAWs bring different ideas out of me. But it's also a slap in the face to ask me to throw you $150 every year to upgrade to the next version when I've been here since version one.

Presonus is doomed the day it was aquired by Fender, when big guys enter the scene, be sure that is not gonna be good for the customers obviously, they only about one thing only : milking the hell out of the customers... Avid has done it, Adobe, Waves to name a few... And seems that no one learn a lesson from what happened.

They sent out a very long email about this today. It looks ridiculous! No way I'd go for it. Seems as if Fender told them to cut costs, let some of their software people go, and in response they're trimming their software offerings to a single version of S1, and doing a cash grab while they're at it. Seems like Fender has been pushing them to be more of a hardware company anyway. Just about the only thing I'd be interested in with them after this move is will there be some new protection on S1 with this new plan and if so, will anyone next door be able to defeat it. Fingers crossed!

Unless I missed something, it doesn't seem like v7 bring any new features compared to v6.

In this daw, I can't make dub music properly, because I can't send my delay channel to himself like it's always done in dub music. I don't use it.

Anyone know how much or if it exhists, is a crossgrade update to Cubase from Studio One?

*UPDATE* Yes it exhists, and costs £150, So is it worth jumping ship?, and having to learn a new working environment or sticking to the devil you know, and sucking up to Fender's business model?
    Welcome to any opinions
