just installed hive,problem with it too.
actually same prob i had with a the last hive release.once i press a key on midi keyboard level meter goes into red on cubase,and i get a continuous harsh tone.

Go to the preset selection "screen" in Hive and scroll all the way down to the bottom of the menu. Load Init patch. Put Hive main volume at 50, hit a key and look at the CPU meter back up in the screen area. bottom right corner. When you hit a key it should show almost nothing but a tiny blue sliver.

What synth plugins do you have on this computer which actually work correctly?

 

u name it i prob have it or had it! hehe
only things that dont work due to avx are massive x, slate digital fg-x2. moog mariana(cpu explodes as soon as i touch a key on midi keyboard)
