I can't use the Superior Drummer 3 Core Library Installer on Mac; "needs to be updated"

    The only Superior Drummer 3 Core Library file I can find on the sister site that isn't an update has an installer that doesn't work on my OS. Is there any easier way I can go about installing the core library than to use a VM?

    Although I never had a Mac I just recently installed it on Windows and remember when you unzip the WIN_Installer_135.zip or the MAC_installer_135/zip it ends up in another folder on it's own so drag the Sound Installer app back a folder so it is next to/alongside the Main 'Contents' folder where the WIN_Installer_135.zip and MAC_installer_135/zip are and give it another go.
    Failing that just copy the main 'Contents' to where you want it.
    Open Superior Drummer 3
    Click on Settings \/ Libraries/Paths... Click [Add Library Path(s)]...button (Top Left) then highlight your Core Library
    'SL-SuperiorDrummer3' and OK/Apply.
    This is how you install the extra SDX Add-on Libraries/Kits so may work for the Main Content too

    This worked! New error now though; I'm running the VST in legit Pro Tools through Patchworks, and the SD3 plugin is telling me that my audio engine is inactive...

    You haven't got the Standalone Version opened up at the same time in the background as you are trying to Open it in PT have you? Some people also had the same error in Reaper and that was down to not arming the track to record. Standalone will have Audio Settings for ASIO/Midi also

    No, I never use standalone versions of plugins. Saw that in the Reaper forums as well, when troubleshooting.

    Fixed the problem: turns out you have to run it in BlueCat Patchwork Synth as opposed to standard BlueCat Patchwork.
