A 1995 Parker Fly Deluxe in emerald green or sapphire blue, I almost bought one when they first came out but ended up getting a new car instead. I've always regretted not buying the Parker Fly and a used car instead of a new one.

Do you understand how ROMplers work? Do you know what the microprocessor in something like a DX-7 is doing? I'm not talking about a digitally controlled analog synth like a Prophet.

Errr yes but not really. All synth sounds in MJ's album are layers of multiple sounds and tweaked. This alone means they put the work bro, and this is what i meant by screw the presets. Just so we don't get the typical misunderstandings with written speech and so on.
As contradictory as it may sound, the best use of presets is made by pros. Perhaps not the most inspired always, but. Due to their pro experience they can easily select the correct preset and tweak it so they can fill in what color 's missing from the "picture" in a mix. And usually this situation has a producer who decides what's missing and a keyboard "role" pro player who will perform the task.
As far as presets go, in 1983 i was 17 and an aspiring musician. If someone didn't lend me a cheap analog mono Gem synth to mess with for as long as i wanted, i dunno if i would really learn about tweaking synths. I had to put the work in order to make it sound anything but a fart hehe. Bur surely you know all this. My point is, aspiring synth tweakers/players should really learn the parts a synth is made of and then decide what they need. Making wishlists without the proper knowledge is more or less pointless to me. It's like when you 're a teenager and every week you are in love with a different girl lol.
    All the best mate,
    Cheers

I had a musical saw, but I sold it, I kept running out of musical wood. plus all that sawdust kept getting into my DAW keyboard.
I'm looking for a musical power saw,but everyone I've tried always just sounds like the Art of Noise, close to the edit, so kinda a one trick pony, needs an octave pedal or something.

    - I had the Roland XR Rack, effectively replaced by Zenology Pro.
    - My neighbor still has the Emu-Proteus 2000, but I use it via the Dimension Pro expansions inside of Raptue Pro. That was the most authentic software version of the hardware.
    - Played the Triton before, like the plugin a LOT.

If money was no issues, I would buy either. My choices would be:

    1. Mood One (and I'd keep an ex-Moog engineer on retainer to maintenance)
    2. UDO Super Gemini, because its the best combination of hands on, modern, and build qualiy.
    3. Waldorf Quantum, because it's weird, deep, and also sounds good.
