It was alerted by knobcloud owner @Florens74 and fortunately prevented people’s credentials from leaking and compromised by him.

Look like Makrem is a cyber criminal on a high scale who manged scam many people overtime across all marketplaces. But given that his real identity is known, and that he is a performing artist at Debo, which appears to be a large music production company in Tunis. Collective legal suite might be a good idea.

Exactly how I felt seeing his posts pop up on the audiosex feed every other week or so.

surely not a forum mod, but in theory the time delay which an escrow service causes should be enough to find out if the seller of a software license is a legit owner of what he sells or not - unlike for cars, where you might find out 3 years later that it was stolen.

i do never use PPF or even bank transfer for anything over 50 or 100 euros, depending on the feeling have about the seller or offer, and i welcome that platforms like kleinanzeigen_de use escrow as main payment method. unfortunately it is required.

 

I once received a message from 'proaudioguy' claiming he was trying to save me from getting scammed. But honestly, looking back, it felt more like he was trying to pull me into a scam himself. I was in the market for some plugins at the time, so it seems he saw that as an opportunity. Pretty shady behavior—what a shame.

 

I sold a PT license and some SSL plugins here without any issues. I think the key is having patience and not rushing things, so you don’t get fooled by some shady people.

 

This is a red flag that is so common, it is surprising that scammers even try it anymore; but many of them do it anyway. Don't say anything about the possibility of their sale items being a scam, at least not right away. If they are a scammer, they will bring that into the discussion on their own. It's almost like they cannot resist mentioning they are not scamming you. Projection, or maybe reverse psychology; something.

 

It was more a case of brainstorming. Only more storming than brains.
I think there is some value to the Seller, and indeed buyer, having to prove to each other they are on the level. Paypal is probably the safest way of making a safe transaction, as it at least provides a level of security.

 

Glad this scheme has come to an end. I bought some PA transfers from him a few months ago for just a few bucks. When I saw the name on the receipt, it raised red flags because I had seen it on the Facebook and KVR blacklists multiple times. I wanted to warn the forum staff, but it felt pointless without personal proof. I hope everyone gets their money back, and that he receives the punishment he deserves.

What a scumbag sadly I fell for his trap too from his good guy demeanor and having many good feedbacks fortunately I only purchased from him once since he kept on PMing me with these "Deals" and demands that I should add him on either Telegram or Whatapps for "better communication" afterwards. This alerted my red flag about him. *seeing this thread my senses were correct

To add to this "James Doran" alias or whatever he brought this up to me when I couldnt send him the payment for the first and only purchase I had with him by telling me that I should try this account and that this was his "studio friends" account with his good guy demeanor and very manpulative bbehavior that i have mentioned which I foolishly didnt see it back then.

Seeing the context of this and to our conversation sickens me and I wish that he get punished from all the damages he has caused to not only to us buyers but this community as a whole. Since he scammed me when I joined this community for less than a week.

 

*Lesson learned that I shouldn't have put my guard down no matter how much great and flawless experiences I had with other sellers at different communities. There will be that one bad shit apple that can ruin your day or even your life and with that I will never ever let it down ever again.

Furthermore this was the only time I used another payment transaction form instead of the usual PP + Fee (PayPal + Goods and Services), I will keep this to heart and so should you (whoever is buying from 2nd hand sellers).

I see you´ve already updated warnings and good advice regarding purchases on the Selling / Buying thread, so maybe it will prove to be enough.
If not, I might consider taking a turn if I have reasonable freedom to moderate as I see fit - of course with respect to your instructions?!?

I have bought a Xfer Serum license from the guy. It still works though. I was a bit concerned that he didn't accept PayPal. From now on I will only pay using PayPal. And I dont mind paying a little extra for the buyers protection they offer. I feel sorry for anyone who has been scammed. Either by him or other scammers. Stick to PayPal with buyers protection. If the seller rejects forget the deal and move on. A legit seller will always accept PayPal. Just my two cents guys
