novation supernova sounds interesting.. i never expected this would happen. if you told me this in 2011 i wouldnt believe. absolutely surreal that you have done this with virus ti, snow and more! this is incredible.. you defintely deserve donation

Yeah, this pack of sounds for virus TI is not full on sister site, there are missing ones from there, so downloaded and added in my collection, and still adding from time to time. Lots of good packs.
Now it is time to search packs for Nord, waldorfs, maybe novation...

I admit I've not used K/A-stations, but ever since giving up my X-station the V-station has that indeed covered.

 

I have listened several demo of V-station vs hardware based on, on YouTube... Software just has less lows, and more digital highs..... Eqs can match this to be way closer..... But depends on mix... In any case, hardware or digital emu, you need to mix, not match..... Why not just use u-he, synapse, the usual suspects, invader, serum, lush101 v2, poly-ana, op-x-pro II, Roland, korg, arturia, GForce, brainworx vsti, softube vsti, cescato TCM II, spire, sylenth1 and other billions of good digital VA phaatt shit? What do you still want? Buy any extra cheap analog Behringer as well.

Not when the original synth manufacturer is still around and can make great plugins. I was never a big fan of Waldorf Largo, but their Microwave1 "recreation" is a very nice synth plugin. When their "official" version was released so shortly after the emulated Microwave 2, I was sort of expecting the emulator to fare much better than it does against their new plugin.

 

Funny, the orange and blue hardware sitting in the rack next to me sounds equally different considering they're nowhere near the same synth underneath and one is half analog, and the other is pure DSP.

 

What's your point? Is it difficult to compare two plugins?

 

why would they do worse synths from the same series when they've announced better ones

I think your best shot is probably the discord

 

Trying out the beta, it definitely does the early Nord sound as expected. While I do love DiscoDSP's version it's way too smooth compared to the real brutal sound of the original. Maybe it models the later ones even though it's patch compatible with NL2.

But the original was definitely a major synth of it's time and it sounds like it's of it's time (huh), and this is insta-timewarp to that age.

So in short: I'm loving it! Great stuff as always, so thank you The Usual Suspects!
