So i've been following along pretty closely as I've dropped 5 hits of acid and accidentally locked myself in the bathroom , thank fulyl I have a fully stocked liquor cabinet in here and great wifi connection. So I got to the part in "Practical Symphonies, for Practically Anyone" where you take the cup of whole notes and the beaker of quarter notes and add it to the solution of rests, that is chilled in the iced water and saline bath to -32 ( is that celsius or farenheit - damn these tutorials are vague) it says to stir gently without agitation for 3hours...

is that metric hours or standard hours? also do I need a metronome or a watch to keep time?

sorry for all the questions, its my first symphony and I'd like it to come out nice and fluffy without to much bass and not burnt around the edges.

thanks again for any help, fellas..

you welcome but late, that link was posted by Stevie in this thread days ago but you didnt even see it lol

and another BIG problem in music is that people always tries to talk about something dont have any idea, for example what is a symphony.

    So how was that tutorial?

I think he did touch some grass, then he touched his keyboard. That's the problem.

there lies some truth in your joke... that is the next thing that happens when you show a "how to compose a symphony" video to someone who asked for a "how to compose a symphony" video, he will watch it, and in the video they say "you need to listen to the symphonies of gustav mahler and analyze them" and then he asks "how do i listen and analyze to a symphony?"

let´s say he is not one of those 100 million idiots who think you only need a non-legit copy of the right mastering compressor plug-in to become the next michael jackson, and his interest is serious.

how would you explain that to someone? beeing able to do that is the real arts, that makes the difference between an expert and a professor.

    are you kidding? its impossible

someone asking for a "good tutorial" -how to write a symphony- dont have any idea how does a symphony sound, if he's european he probably doesnt even know the Anthem of Europe.

a "normal human being", doesnt matter how smart, after seriously listening to a couple of haydn symphonies would never ask such a stupid question

Dear friend, don't trust your abilities too much. Instead of these fake shows, try to learn more. Music is an endless world of complex things. If someone thinks that it is easy to get past complicated things, they are very wrong.
There are no training videos that start from zero and teach you everything until the end. If a person does not learn something and waits for miracles and inspiration until the end of his life, he will not be able to create that thing. When I opened this thread, I knew exactly what I was talking about. This world we live in is like a forest where all creatures think of themselves. Humans are like squirrels who guard their nuts so that no one else gets them. If great things were to be taught correctly and in all details, now all the people in the world would be makers of everything.
Now go and knock on the General Motors company and tell them that I want to learn about your work and make a 10000-hour full movie of all the stages of your company's tasks with all the details. That moment will be the last moment of your life.

And i can give it to you.

I'm not talking about who is capable of what in a small part of music world. I said that big things should be taught to people so that everyone can make music or do whatever they want. Because currently many people have confused mixing with making music and when they mix they think they are making music. Music making is not taught to people in a principled and precise manner, and this lack of proper training gives rise to widespread misunderstandings.

It´s hard to teach a skill that is heavily experience-based in depth. How do you make a good song? Making 1000 bad songs so at the 1001th song you probably made all the possible mistakes that you can do at a music producer.

Things being said, there´s a bit of opinion in your bias. There´s a lot of good stuff to learn for intermediate producers, but most of it is accesible only if you pay a suscription, sadly. You even can hire some professional artists to mentor you via Discord calls.

Simply put @ULX, because most people with an instrument in their hands are beginners

You make a advanced tutorial, most people ain't gonna like it.

It’s important to remember that tutorials, while invaluable for beginners, have their limitations.

Once you’ve mastered the basics, the rest is a journey of experience that can’t be fully captured in a tutorial. For example, I can teach you music theory, how to use a DAW and how to record an orchestra, but I cannot teach you how to develop your musical taste, what to listen for, or general experience.

Once you understand the basics, you need a personal mentor to develop your skills further. While Malcolm Gladwell said it’s down to just 10,000 hours of practice, he fails to tell you that the practice must be guided. If you practice the wrong thing, you’re only getting better at getting worse. Even athletes at the top of their game have personal trainers.

Perhaps you should seek a professional mentor to help you develop rather than complaining you can't find the answers in a video.
