So i've been getting into latin urban music and vocals are produced quite different to what I'm used to do, I wanted to know if anyone knows how to achieve that type of "texture" these vocals have

I tried saturn, decapitator and that type of stuff but it's something different, must be a specific plugin

    thanks a lot guys

Its not some magic plugin. Its scooped, HPF maybe up to 200-700hz range or so. Compressed, auto tune, Vocal throw is an adlib track with almost 100% wet verb, maybe even 100 percent. Decapitator could help to add the little bit of bite, use the HPF, turn the tone knob up a bit. Dont overthink it.

What are you used? What mic are you using?

you could try some subtle formant shifting

the lead vocal def has some type of 'exciter' plugin, I'm asking if anybody knows what specific sound is this.
I record with Apogee Duet + Neumann TLM103, I can get a great sounding vocal by compressing and eq, but there's something missing, and it's that 'texture' i'm looking for (I believe it's also what makes it stereo)

I did this on a parallel track with a trackspacer and it's a cool vocal but not natural like the Anuel AA song

I think trackspacer might be going the opposite direction. I think it is a clipper.

I think it could be some type of multiband saturator that creates side harmonics, or some digital distortion, and it probably is clipped (if not the vocals, the master is)

it's only on the upper frequency portion of the vocals, so it could be a multiband like Saturn2. I do see why you tried that already. Did you try Kclip3 in multiband mode? There is a preset for Drums that is setup as a multiband exciter. Take a look at the settings.

I did an analysis of the vocal using AI to strip it. theres nothing below 200hz, its pretty steeply cut off. I would start there. I would also try boosting or multiband saturating or whatever around the 1-2k nasally area. Again, i dont think its any one plugin. Just experiment with different types of distortion / saturation. I dont think the vocal is clipped very heavily, but i just tried clipping it using Kclip in multiband mode, and it did bring out some interesting harmonics that could maybe be what you are looking for.

    Try:

Kclip in mb mode, clipping around 1-3k

Spectre MB saturation in the same freq

DJ Swivel The Sauce - I hate it, but i know a lot of these producers use it. It has a saturation section. Also has a MB mode

Fab Filter Saturn - Mb mode - Gentle Transformer Model. It sounds like it in my test right now. Preset attached.

or Knock clipper, is also in that category of plugins that can be used creatively, but are still very widely known and used. RC-20 is probably best example of this.

Oh, I just meant well-known plugins that are commonplace in popular production. Some of those producers do not use many obscure plugins but make it sound like it through a little bit more creative use.

But if anything like this, I think it is maybe RC-20 with the Distortion module set to Crunch, and the focus narrowed to the portion of vocal. You could cut the vocal using the master cut filter to eliminate the bottom of it. or pro-Q3.
