For sure. The other competitor though will be a hard one though because AVID owns Sibelius now. And they aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
Their gross income is more than all the other major music soft companies together lol. And Steinberg have been as of 20 yrs now, trying to become Avid dating back to the Digidesign days. I mean i liked Steiny when they were purely German. Something about that strictness and straight forward thinking i could relate to. Past 20 yrs or so that it's a mix with Yamaha i dunno. If i was them i would try and incorporate Vst live and Dorico in Cubase. Or at least allow real cross functionality between them. That could be a possible daw to end 'em all. But it's wishful thinking of course.
So, first time i tried Dorico it had an immediate familiar feel. So yeah i could learn it easily, it didn;t seem too idiosyncratic. More logical than Sibelious i'd say. Sibelious is more ingenious for me. But hey don't mind me old ass mumbling.
    Cheers

Glad I didn't pay for any updates over the past 20-years.

Both Finale and Dorico Pro have more depth than Musescore. But then you have people like my wife which really likes Musescore's simplicity. She swears it beats them all in speed when writing a simple piece. And she hates Finale and with Sibelius she always finds herself fiddling with the myriad alternate options instead of finishing a piece of music. I don't do much writing myself, mostly checking/correcting export sheets from midi and checking others before importing them to DAW.
    Cheers
