Less treating of the walls a square room has less things for the sound waves to bounce off of and it’s good to mix in mono to prevent said sound waves from going everywhere

    I am interested in this.
Some one else also said that a square room has a bad bass frequency build up. where you end up sitting could be where the bass is nulled. Is there a size that is best to follow regarding the square room?

A square room is bad because it is uniform and will create standing waves that cancel out certain frequencies

you can treat the room by opening doors to change the shape of the room or moving large furniture such as ceiling to floor closets into the room to break up the space, among other techniques. It all depends on how bad the room is and how much you want to spend.
the classic cheap fix is to use headphones when mixing which eliminates the room properties, now you are at the mercies of your headphones reproductive capabilities, which is another discussion altogether.

"Mikrokosmos" is a collection of 153 progressive piano pieces composed by Béla Bartók between 1926 and 1939. The title, "Mikrokosmos," reflects the idea of creating a "microcosm" of musical styles, techniques, and approaches, essentially a miniature universe of music.

The collection is divided into six volumes, which increase in complexity from beginner to advanced levels, making it suitable for students and professional pianists alike. Each piece is designed to teach specific technical and musical elements, such as rhythm, harmony, counterpoint, and folk music elements.

Bartók's "Mikrokosmos" is not only an educational tool but also an exploration of his unique style, blending traditional Western music theory with Hungarian folk music influences, modernist dissonances, and innovative rhythms. It remains a key part of the piano repertoire for its pedagogical value and its representation of Bartók's musical ideas.

Elementary harmony; theory and practice by Robert W Ottman. Still a classic book. Best for learning about common practice period harmony and theory, which still applies today.
