    Version 2.16 released!
    • This version officially supports Windows 10 and Windows 11.
    • Also confirmed to work with Windows 7 and Windows 8, with some minor GUI visual artefacts, though.
    • Report bugs to [email protected]!
    Changes since version 2.15:
    • “Off-Line Settings” brought back, due to popular demand.
    • Now only one single installer, combining all languages supported.
    • Fixed regression that would sometimes constrain bit depth to 16 bits only.
    • Workaround for Intel SST USB wrapper.
    • Workaround for on-board audio on Gemini Lake Refresh (and possibly others as well).
    • Fixed: Sample rate would appear “stuck” at low setting (e.g. 8kHz) after swithing back and forth between audio devices inside the ASIO4ALL GUI.

    Still can't believe some people use this instead of their actual interfaces ASIO drivers. I'm not sure where that advice originated from, but it's the cause of so many people's issues.

    A lot of interfaces (especially the very cheap ones) don't have any drivers. Even more now that there are actually decent (as in components) interfaces from China.

    The real question is: why Microsoft still isn't putting any effort into perfecting their already existing built-in low latency drivers so that we can finally abandon ASIO? I guess chasing down investor money for AI crap might be a good answer.

    It originated with people having problems with their interfaces own drivers. I do not remember seeing people recommending it often until Cubase SX days of old. Sometimes it does work better for individual users; but you are right saying that it often causes more issues than it "fixes".

    Because most "built in" audio devices (motherboard, notebooks ...) doesnt have an ASIO driver at all ... simple as that !

    They tried: see WASAPI, but today is mostly abandoned.
    Before using Voicemeeter and then Asio Link Pro, I was using it because it was multiclient (shared mode), but not many sw boasted it.
    BTW I think it was not up to ASIO performance.
