Well, do i take this seriously? I will only say this as i see we have new and younger peeps here. I don't belong in the YT generation. Most of my "hit" work has been done in the 90s and early 2ks. But. I have been constantly sampling existing records (both known and obscure) on domestic minor hits and nobody has ever asked me for clearance. Cheater? Hmmm... There is only one key to sampling whether you are using ready made samples or sampling released music. Sample cleverly and this means manipulating the original audio to make something new, to an extent that what you 're doing is pretty much sound design. Experiment. There's always something new around the "corner". Anyone new to making music should really care about being creative, not if they use samples or not. Because creativity is what makes artistry not rules. Enjoy this trip. Last edited: Aug 18, 2024
Errr... It's one thing being cocky and another thing being foolish. You should realize you are talking about an act that has won 6 Grammy Awards and sold over 13 million albums & 20 million singles. Their tracks have been streamed over 3 billion times and their net worth is over 22 million dollars. And you are? What's that ? Ohh...I see... Nice to meet you mr. Beethoven
The chemical brothers are awesome. Im pretty sure the grammy's signifies their quality, if their so called popularity doesn't. Lets hear your stuff!
Now that's an argument. Lemme tell you a lil thingy. The Grammy is not given to the most popular acts. Let alone 6. "GRAMMY winners and GRAMMY nominees are determined as voted by the Recording Academy's Voting membership, which is composed of music creators, including artists, producers, songwriters, and engineers. Registered Companies are not permitted to vote in the GRAMMY Awards process". So, in order to be nominated you gotta have your own musician and industry pro peers (and for the most part antagonists) vote for you. I gotta note here that the Chems never played pop music, thus their popularity comes from the indie/alternative music fans and those who don't care about "radio" playlists and hits whatsoever. Until you reach that point little young insignificunt Padawan, why don't you grow a pair and let us hear your wondrous creations instead of uttering nonsense. And nobody cares what samples you used or not lol, this is not the kindergarten. I'll show you mine if you show me yours hahaha. Last edited: Aug 19, 2024
"Dirty Bassline" is cool. Thank you for the sample packs too. I'm having a modest chuckle with this thread, as you make EDM/Dance music yourself. lol.
Can you name some that aren't royalty free though? I couldn't off the top of my head. I mean if someone would offer a paid sample pack that isn't royalty free, he has to be the only one offering those types of samples because common sense will tell everyone to get an alternative sample pack, no? So do they actually exist?

Yeah, the non experts won 6 grammys voted by all the other non experts who -dammit- are all over the industry. And you Foster won the privilege to bust our balls with the sorry existence of a sample lib maker. What's that you said? Takes one to know one?
