I don't think this is something that will be possible in the near future. In my experience when it comes to programming, AI for now is good at repeating and autocompleting tasks, it is not very good at coming up with complex programs by itself yet. So if you have a task that is tedious, that has been done before, AI will be able to understand what you are trying to do and it can help you implement it. If you want it to create something new and innovative, you will not get very far, especially if you don't understand what you want it to do yourself and all you have is an abstract idea.

I remember that once upon a time, many people expected that VST plugins to be created so that they could perform various tasks. At that time, one of the hot topics was the order to make plugins that wipe the asses.

Now the word artificial intelligence has taken the place of those plugins and people are raising the same expectations again.

The future of DAWS - instead of having to hunt around for different plugins it will be a fully integrated AI system and we will just need to tell it to do anything we can imagine.

 

last time I tried free outdated ChatGPT, it actually coded functional Reaper plugin, so perhaps start there...

Hamid, bro, no hard feelings, we flex too much out of boredom and music is crap, plugins sound digital, there´s not much to do.


@Crinklebumps - i was watching Squarepusher interview where he mentioned that when he got to the point where he could make a track in his head he knew he was on the good path, and i realised how advanced you need to be to make anything worthy of listening more than 25 seconds

 

It's interesting. Producing an electronic track worthy of people's attention is very difficult. But my background is primarily playing guitar live with a band. I learned many techniques and genres which gave me a wide variety of ways to play even a single note, different feels for different music. It's hard to translate that into playing and composing with synths. Also solo orchestral instruments are difficult to play because of all the programming needed to produce a real-sounding performance. I'm old though, the modern way of making music doesn't come easily to me.

From now on I'm going to limit my track lengths to 24 seconds, thanks for the tip!
