So I recently installed the most recent R2R Softube releases (Model 72, 84 etc), and they were working initially, but then suddenly they stopped working and began actually crashing my FL session. Now when I go to open the plugin, an FL Error popup window appears and essentially crashes FL.

I uninstalled using Revo and cleaned up everything as best as I could, reinstalled, and the same issue. This time the plugin doesn't even come up at all, the same popup window.

I think it's because I use legit Splice for samples, but even with the Slice app closed the whole time, reinstalling didn't work.

So I decided to just do the rent-to-own and go legitimate because I actually love these plugins, and even when I did that, they still broke. The legitimate Splice versions won't work as well now.

I suspect there is a file on my system or registry that is preventing me to install these again. The only thing I could think of would be to do a complete windows reinstall, but I am not going to do all that.

Any ideas?

So now I got it up and running legit, but cracked not working.

try another host.. if plugins will work - the problem is in FL.

 

Yes try another host first.
If they work then there are options in FL for "plugins behaving badly" which might help.
I don't see Softube listed, but trying each of the options might work:

Of course it might be some file or registry thing as you said.
I am not familiar enough with Softube to help.
