ADT (Artificial double tracking). Works great but the input must be mono (well, I put two instances if don't produce phase problems). Freebie.

You can use the width function on lives utility plug. I like using waves s1 stereo widener, its nice for spreading pads.

    +1 for Stereoizer

Also DrMS is nice and very powerfull if you know what you're doin'. (this equation is available for the plugin above as well)

Some are already mentioned above but I'll go for ..
    iZotope Ozone 5 Stereo Imager
Brainworx Control V2 or Digital V2 (for more processing but the Control would be good enough just for mono/stereo adjustments)
    AOM Factory Stereo Imager D
Matthew Lane DrMS (although I only use it sometimes on single channels, like pads)

Quote for bx_shredspread, but you must know what you're doing (worth mention, mmh yeah)
and not crank it up to 200%, it can easily be a phase correlation destroyer.
NuGen is very good too, as it is DrMS, but as Evorax said it's pretty difficult
for noobs and you can end up with more problems than advantages.
The golden rule when it comes to stereo widening (apart for not overusing, I didn't mentioned yet?)
is always take a look at your correlation and check mono compatibility as well.

i like to use now the Quikquak UpStereo pro but the Ableton's Utility does nice job too.

All is matter of contrast between mono and narrowed tracks and stereo wide tracks not necessary like black and white but more like grey scale imho

Here are some plugins I found in my folder:
DDMF StereooeretS - I installed DDMF because I like their Equalizers, and found this tool which although is old it's pretty good and configurable.
    Sonalksis StereoTools - also good.

I am very cautious and didn't use Stereo Enhancers yet on a mix, because I want to gain more experience before doing it. Don't forget to check for MONO as few people said before.
These can be nice tools when trying to "hear" some bass lines or pads or other instruments from a song. That's how I use them. On mixes with poor mono compatibility, you can solo or cancel the center.

the Sonalksis Stereo Tool was the best of 3-4 stereo enhancers that i've tested so far. but i think there are much better plugins on the market. the biggest trash of an Stereo enhancer was the Quikquak UpStereo plugin. it doesn't widen the Stereo but rather destroys the sound. probably i'm just too stupid to handle it^^. the results of the Ableton Utility Tool are also more bad than good. just my own experience!
