I have been ALL over the internet searching for this tool and trying to understand how to use it to install libraries. Is it pretty much self-explanatory? I haven't been logged in here in a while. But before i give a crack at it i want to make sure i have read all info about using it to install libaries. Im currently running Kontakt 7.9.0

um, yes, but it requires one do the proper RTFM and faq's and I would strongly recommend reading this entire thread to understand it properly in where others have made mistakes, or found potholes etc which Fred Bloggs has been pretty quick to fix and explain.

Spend what is a relatively brief amount of time reading what Fred Blogg's has spent a fair amount of time explaining and delineating, and hell, creating the ability to do so, and you should be fine.

It has worked flawlessly for me when I adhere to the instructions properly and perform them correctly.

    It's a fantastic tool.

My advice would be to ask Kontakt questions in a Kontakt forum! This is NOT one of those :dont:

You are right Fred, thanks for the headup...

I was so burnt out from the heat (39° here) that I thought I was on a Kontakt post/forum.

    Now I post it elsewhere.

Every time I run KLU it starts a full library scan and it takes a lot of time as I have installed many libraries. Is there a way to skip this?
    Thanks

Hi again all. I decided to bite the bullet and start over fresh with all my Kontakt libraries after having some issues with libraries not showing up etc. So I went through the process of batch uninstalling all my Kontakt libraries with KLU, and making sure to remove and delete all .plist files from the preferences folder in macintosh hd and in the user folder, and made sure that the entire Service Center folder was empty from any .xml files (I backed up everything before uninstalling and deleting just to be safe). I opened up Kontakt 7 to make sure there were no libraries in there at all and that I was starting fresh and clean, and started the process of re-installing everything just using KLU and nothing else. Everything worked out great except for 4 libraries that doesn't show up in Kontakt even though they did before I uninstalled everything? When I click on the "show anomolies" button, I get this message saying that these 4 libraries doesn't have any user preference files:

    https://ibb.co/4NbWBqN

It says that Kontakt will create them, but I've started Kontakt several times, and those particular libraries doesn't show up in Kontakt? I've tried uninstalling them again with KLU and re-installing them, but still a no show in Kontakt. I've checked that the preferences folder in macintosh hd and the .plist file for each library is there, and the .xml file is in the Service Center folder and the SNPID number matches the .nicnt file for each library. So I'm completely lost here? These particular libraries showed up before I uninstalled everything and started fresh again, just using KLU for everything (before I had used the Kitty script for various libraries before finding the KLU software, so I don't know if that messed something up?).

If anyone has any tips on how I get these libraries to show up again I would be deeply grateful.

Oh, and by the way. Maybe this is a Kontakt question, but before deleting everything with KLU and starting over, Kontakt always "remembered" the state I had it setup, meaning it always opened in rack view that I like and the keyboard showing etc, but now it always opens with the new default view and no keyboard etc so I have to click to activate them every time I open Kontakt. Does anyone know why this behavior has changed after I deleted all libraries with KLU and does anyone know how to fix it so it "remembers" my settings like before?

    Kind regards

so i'm selecting a library with a nicnt file properly but when i click install nothing happens at all ? the button is clickable but it doesn't do anything, anyone have any guess as to what my issue might be?

    also i keep getting:

"This SNPID number is already being used by 0035.
Keeping this value will create a conflict !
Please choose another one or let KLU do it !"

no matter which SNPID number i use, even after it says the number is not in use by anything in my library??

Hello Guys, i have managed to download the KLU version 2.4.0 and I was amazed how easily it helped me to install all my Kontakt libraries on my Mac, but i still have a huge problem. The libraries that are working just fine, are shwoing the " Instruments " bar under the library icon, but those that are not working properly, are showing " Browse " , so even the KLU is creating Nictnt files for all the libraries, then why I should " Browse " to load my instruments ? Would be amazing if someone can help out. Thx a lot

    I am using Kontakt 6

Does anyone happen to have any idea why certain libraries will install and show up in Kontakt 7 after using KLU to create a .nicnt file, and some wont? I've tried educating myself by reading all the documentation I've been able to find, but haven't managed to find an answer. I'm on a M2 Ultra Mac Studio, Sonoma 14.6.1 and just recently uninstalled and cleared out my entire Kontakt library in order to start fresh just using KLU. But for some reason, certain libraries I had installed and working before starting fresh simply wont install with KLU, and some libraries that I've used KLU to create nicnt and wallpaper files with and install with KLU simply wont show up in Kontakt 7 for me, while some does? Since I can't do anything but to simply load a library in KLU and press the "create nicnt" file and then "create wallpaper" file, and press install, I can't for the life or me understand what I'm doing wrong? Just now I wanted to try out the new Arpology X library that doesn't come with a nicnt or wallpaper file, so I created those in KLU and installed as usual, but it simply wont show up in Kontakt even though the .plist file is generated in Preferences, and the xml file is in the Service Center? KLU doesn't warn me about the SNPID being used by any other library, and the xml file has the same SNPID number as the newly created nicnt file, so I'm completely clueless and could really use some help, pointers or tips by someone more educated and more skilled than me :)

I once had the problem that I could not install Alicia's keys with the KLU tool.
I then used the Add Library for macOS v3.0 which has been included in some libraries since 2023. Then it worked.
Maybe you should try it with that. and the rest with KLU again.
You can find it on the sister site. Just search for the name.
And then report here whether it worked.

I'm struggling to get libraries working with Kontakt and I'm guessing it's because of that I screwed something up with the SNPID Utilities tab. I'm using Kontakt 7.5.2 and I got
    > Kontakt Factory Library 2 P269 Native Instruments GmbH 37GB 0001
    > Kontakt Library i837 Native Instruments GmbH 0000
in the SNPID tab, however I can't get them removed and whenever I add a library it will show up as not working in Kontakt... Does anyone know where to go from here?

Also, when I somehow got a Library added which isn't showing up as not working it will give me a notification "This instrument belongs to a library that is not installed currently!"

Guessing I need to somehow delete what i currently have and go on with a "Fresh start"
