So I listened to all the tracks in your original post and I fuckin love it.

Reminds me of this bandcamp artist I found years ago that basically perfectly put a soundtrack to what a bad trip sounds like and how fucking eerily accurate he was. You'd think these things are hard to translate accross kind of like trying to explain a trip to someone's who's never been before so you come out sounding stupid but yet people have been able to translate that into soundscapes perfectly.

Great job OP. I hope you continued to make sound since you made this thread. Great shit!

Thanx guys (and gals) for "pep talk" kind words. Much obliged.

Few more examples of "Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!'" superbly mixed and mastered, never-ending "Ordo Ab Chao" WIP, I'm too old for that shit, shit:

Nah, brain is relatively fine, they say. Mind might be a different story — a romantic drama, telenovela kind of story.

Why would anyone do that? The special banana microphone is meant for (any orifice capable of blowing) singing.

@dtmd I listened to almost everything. Out of this world! You would be a fantastic composer for film or video games. Sound designer also. Thank you for sharing your work. I think you have achieved your goal of taking the listener to the ..
    dtmd realm.

I really like when you share the screen, watching the vectorscope is a show of its own.
Each composition has its own distinct feeling and they all stood out in their own way.
To pick a favorite would be a disservice. I share and choose these because of the sounds and the vectorscope.
    Good show.
Is this first one a reskin of Metaphysical Function, or something completely different?
Do you ever make your own Reaktor devices?

Do you tweak Reaktor's parameters in these performances, or do you just let it run? To answer my own question I would assume for it to be a combination of both. Reaktor is very slept on.
It is a sound designer's or resampler's paradise. Cycling '74 Max, too.

Love some of these sound design, very much IDM. But really like the last track. In some ways it reminds me of "Heavenchord, Infinity Dots - 23 January 2024" but darker. It often looks like it out of the cries of its existencial shakles that mankind can create the greatest beauty
Thank you for sharing ! :)

After listening to a number of your tracks I took a leak a few moments after watching purpurud when I noticed that my pecker was now rainbow colored. My question...is it the 5 grams of mushrooms that I ate for lunch an hour ago, the effect that your music has on physiology, a combination of the two, natural phenomenon, non of the above, all the above or something else that I'm not thinking of?

More often than not, Hevenchord is the shit. Ofc, the shit, in a good, positive way. Thank you for responding.

Yes, it also seems to me that music is not from this world. It dwells in it when someone with academically educated knowledge calls it to manifest, but it is not a child of this world. An academically, mathematically educated person in the science of sound, or quite the opposite, must ask the muse to appear, to whisper the fortunate combination of notes that are not a cacophony of noise, but some form of something, medium, through which it is possible to express the "The Red Book" inexpressible.

"Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar."

I am almost fifty years old... child. Somewhat to quite demented of mind, yet I can still recall, after a few hours or a more broken than not 56k connection, the joy of playing with the first version of the "Reason" software. A bit later, when "in the box" sound became somewhat better and the then very expensive computers became more advanced, capable of higher-quality sound manipulation, a compilation of several "squeaky toy" instruments for Reaktor appeared. Reaktor appeared both promising in appearance, and usability, and sound. Mike Daliot (massive, metaphysical disfunction, lazerbass, monark, photone...) was the name behind the toys that no longer were, nor sounded like toys. Toys that I, with my modest, almost nonexistent understanding of what serves what in Reaktor and how it is used, like Doctor Frankenstein tried to repurpose, modify, improve... Sometimes more, sometimes less successfully.

But no, inspired by the muse, I have never and will never construct my own toys in Reaktor. Lately, I only use few remaining derivatives that I once "serendipity" messed up due to my blissful ignorance.

Sometimes is "noodling" a moment of playing more or less live, and sometimes recorded after playing. Sometimes both. Recording the moment of playing from a blank project, an entirely blank canvas, to the end, to saturation, seems like a good idea. Although the recording might be an hour or more long, in today's era of (ADHD) optical, flat-rate internet, that's not much of an issue. I don't know if I'm glad, or how I feel, but let's say I'm glad to notice that there are agents out there not only of intelligence, without feeling tortured capable of hearing the "syncopated headspace" noise in my head. Thank you for the input.

If it’s not five grams of possibly psychedelic mushrooms for lunch, at least not entirely, then it must be the not necessarily conscious "death drive of Thanatos," which one sometimes inadvertently but nevertheless attempts or tries to feed, appease with (angel lust, rigor erectus...) not necessarily edible mushrooms? Thanks for the encouraging words, brother from another mother... or sister, with an erection of unknown origin.

More music or more prolix, which do you prefer more?

A little birdie told me that someone here needs help with a rat, which they smack on the table while trying to control ten or more parameters unsynchronized all at once? Like, the birdie says it would be ideal if a person could automate ten or more parameters of an instrument or effect "on the fly," without needing to record it into a MIDI or audio clip. Ideally, the "on the fly" automation is not synchronized. Initially, it is synchronized, can be, but as time passes, with the relative, not the same duration of each automated parameter, the sound is never the same. Anyway... I think the example may not be the best, but still:

Here, one (MIDI CC) helper for the (host must be running for automation) tired rat, and one confusingly identical looking and equally same in principle (beware, it can bite) equalizer:

Interesting textures here, it really fits the mood today.

Thank you for the Reaktor MIDI CC10 + EQ10 toys! Will be useful for when recording a session live in the DAW.
I have a deep love for Reaktor and its ensembles now, thanks to you. :hifive:
I have one friend that only used Reaktor to produce music and I somewhat understood why at the time, but now I completely understand.

One day I will dig even deeper into it and even look under the hood of some of these ensembles.
There are over 6300 modules (blocks, instruments, effects, and other) available to download from the Reaktor User Library.
Just sign up for a NI account. :grooves:

Also, what exactly is the rat here? Is it CC10 or is it what CC10 controls?

I am a big fan bro, I will keep coming back. AudioSEX is the place! The source of dtmd.

I need to ask those folks over at the NI headquarters if I, as a promoter of somewhat forgotten ("abandonware") software, can get some compensation for promotion. I doubt it, but they say asking doesn't cost anything. Which might not be true, as a person, being a biological machine for recognizing and cataloging patterns, starts to believe in the reality that shows itself as the most probable through the repetition of patterns, collecting various rejections along the way. Yes, User Library is a treasure trove, kind of. Can be. Kind of. To butcher something that someone has spent days meticulously assembling may not be right, but if it can be done joyfully, it can bring considerable satisfaction. All those possibly deliberately and intelligently hidden elements, which can be adjusted with just a little or no knowledge by changing the range of initial values, can sometimes yield satisfactory "happy accidents" results.

"This element injects a constant value of 12.4 into another element for reasons known only to God. Uhm, now, let’s see, and hear, what happens if, instead of that boring constant, I use a dynamic value box and set it to 3654. No, not good. Silent as a dead speaker. How about -364? Can this thingy go into negative territory? Hmm, that’s interesting. How about 6? Even better. Or maybe 12.4*3/6*14. Oh no, that just blew my left speaker. Fuck! Thank you, retarded bran."

Rat? Rat rolled by hand on the table, while trying to manage ten or more parameters? Mouse, I meant mouse. Silly me. A Mickey Mouse operation. Referring to a rat, or rather a mouse, controlling with a mouse, I was thinking that managing ten parameters, whether it's a so-called "CC generator" or an equalizer, might be best handled by "automation data" animating with a mouse. Not devices for precise parameter control with a MIDI controller. Ackchyually, an equalizer doesn't output MIDI data. It can, but it doesn't. It's just a simple toy to use (with a rat/mouse, preferably) when "non-repetitive repetition sequence" fluctuations in sound within the frequency domain are necessary or desired. Anyway... I'm glad I might inspire someone to explore and investigate ("wonderful world of Reaktor's 'liminoid events inside liminal spaces' universe"), and who knows what else might come from it, starting with just that.
