    Evening folks!
My best friend got a 11 year old daughter who wants to be a dj. She started last year with an old laptop she got from me and quickly learned the trade with mixing and all that comes to it.

Now she wants to learn how to make her own dj mixes, megamixes and so on, like Dj Pool, Future Records and so on. I tried to find info on the web but there isnt much out there that is current. Most of the posted stuff is way old :( Can anyone here send me some tips on where to find info on how to make all of that what she wants to create? I have no doubt that she will become a great dj when she's older and i want to help her on her way as much as a i can, (and she's constantly pestering me with questions that i cant answer :) ) Many thanks in advance!

She needs to explore Acapella sites & find the key & bpm of songs she wants to mash up! Maybe try an easy DAW [ Audio sequencer] Digital audio workstation.
Learn FL Studio or Ableton live etc... if shes ok at djing then she should know about BPM sync.So its about matching vocals to dance tracks

    or maybe here,

    https://dj.studio/

"Prepare live sets, create radio shows and video mixes in a fraction of the time, right from on your laptop"

Will give her the ability to mix tracks 'mashup style' manually then lock the tracks together and export her own mashup, also mixtapes/radio shows/dj playlist prep are all also possible.

If she doesn't want so sound like anyone else and maybe spark some new ideas, tell her to grab a DAW of her choice and start trying to mix some tracks and see (or hear) how it develops. You've got the tools these days to do ev-er-y-thing!!!. Practice teaches you way more than any tutorial does. Eventually after having some experience, develop you own unique style and be creative. This is so much more fun and than (re)mixing by numbers.

Just get her the tools and let her figure it out. Don't complicate it. I never knew much music theory but I did some banger mashups. The ear trumps everything else. Let it be play, as much as possible.
Ableton is great. I think Mixed In Key makes some very simple, easy mashup software. Add DJ software and a simple controller for live experimentation, and you're good. None of these things should be very expensive.
Regarding learning things, it's best if that stuff happens in person, show and tell. so anything theory based, big no no. I'm working from the assumption that this is an adhd personality, like me, and everyone I know who's into mashups. That's where the emphasis on keeping it simple comes from, she needs to be empowered, we're so often made to wait, etc.
My stepdad gave me a self-soldering kit when I was a kid. One bit missing. I just wanted to go to the store myself to figure it out. He was sure this would be a complication. Ended up never getting into soldering.
So. Get the tools in place, help what you can, make sure you're not in the way. And she'll lose interest and maybe regain it and it's all fine.

if her mixing is in key and if she mixes a startloop of the next track into the mix and does this regularly then she will notice that she can create something 'new'. i'd say traktor for messing around and mixing and through that finding tracks that work together and then off to ableton for some slicing and dicing
