I thought it would be a good idea to start cataloging different releases, whether they work on all platforms, have some issues that people would perhaps like to know before integrating them into their workflow, etc. For example through some recent tests we've come to the conclusion that R2R's verison of Soundtoys 4.1.8 doesn't work on Windows 8 x64 and jBridge 1.5. Why not save someone the hassle and create a comprehensive list of issues, perhaps it could even help in solving them. The only way this works though is if submissions are made after testing has been performed to assure that this is actually a bug and not some random event or the result of user error. Entries should be thorough, please be vigilant otherwise it will simply degrade into a mess.

So here's my addition:
SoundToys Native Effects v4.1.8-R2R - This release is reliant on iLok drivers being installed. Works on all other platforms but Windows 8 x64 (not sure about x86) with jBridge 1.5 (haven't tried the new one). Some have also experienced the dreaded timebomb on Decapitator but this seems to differ from system to system. Those on Windows 8 seeking a solution revert to AiR's 4.0.2 which is before the modification check was implemented and that bridges just fine.

 

What about known issues and the solution, like my lexicon post over at AudioZ?

Yeah that's part of my vision for this. If there is an issue with a solution then present it like I did with the Soundtoys example. *yes*

Depending on the DAW:
Go to your midi control for that instrument and assign a midi key or knob to Midi cc #11(Expression Controller) and move to 100% to 0%(or velocity of the given note) to control the tone

 

Yes that is probably the answer and it happens to other kontakt lib:s aswell so if there is no sound move the expression wheel on the gui (if it has one)

 

fl studio 1.0.4 r2r :

1. strange delay compesation behavior on the sends
solution: use a normal channel instead
2. strange behavior with vst 3 sidechaining
solution: change daw

Yeah, good idea although it can't be the " absolute bible " since it can depends on modded os, previous installation done or not and so on... i mean a lot of specificities from each user's history.
Nevertheless it can be a pretty good and solid base references for the most of them ( including us of course *yes* )

Hue it will be a challenge but I have some ideas to make it concise and useful but they will have to wait until I finish up my other projects. Once done I will turn my attention to this and make it efficient. I'll tell you a little secret: this is that new project I was talking about in my AudioSex Updates post (not the secret one). Eventually I want to put this information in a database and possibly in the future we could build a separate site for it. It will be like a PreDB but of warez issues/solutions (perhaps a PostDB). I will of course need the help of the community to make this project a reality and it will be a challenge but it could be incredibly useful. *yes*

Yes it is probably because of 64 bit even if you can install 32 bit on win 7 but then you cant have newer Cubase then the old H2O Cubase SX..

Dont know if the halion AIR released in 2009 is working

 

Well, I don´t know if these are common issues, but why not share them:

I´m on Win 7 Ultimate 64bit SP1. DAW: Pro Tools LE 8.0.5 (original).

1] Also Soundtoys (not native bundle), I use Radiator and Devil Loc sometimes.
Not a serious issue but is there. When loading PT I get this for every instance of the plugs inserted, tried fresh install of the DAW and older versions of the plugs but didn´t work. Once in my session everything works fine, it´s just that the loading time takes too much time when working with those plugs.

2] EQuick (lately, my main EQ) and EQuilibrium. This is annoying (because I use them a lot), every time I bypass an instance, or drag it to another insert slot, or duplicate an instance to another channel I get this, then my DAW freezes (image / image) and the only way to go back to work is using the task manager to stop and close everything. Same thing with Soundtoys, tested other releases and no changes, so maybe it´s related to my DAW. It´s not a predictable behaviour, sometimes nothing happens or sometimes I get the appcrash when closing or saving a session.

I´m considering moving to a newer version of PT, but I´ve no money now and I´m not sure about a stable release to check.

solution: use Steinberg HaLion VSTi DXi v3.5 DVDR AiRISO, tested on win7x64 with Reaper-x64 Sonar-x64 Samplitude-x64 Nuendo-x86 and Bitwig, havn't tried jbridge as DAW bridging had no problems

For iOS Z3ta 1.0 stopped working (no sound anymore) after 1 or 2 runs. Other user had similair problems (both running iPad 4 with iOS 7.0.6.)

You have the windows media features disabled, and you do well since its useless...
However you need to enable it for this patch to run.

1. go to: control panel - uninstall a program - turn windows features on or off (at your left column - tick Media features.
2. run the patch.

Sometimes when reopening a project in FL, the values of each knob arent saved and all values revert to zero.

T-Racks Brickwall Limiter 3.1:
When opening a template project with this vsti open, sometimes the audio will still clip.

Fruityloops problem in general:
PDC doesnt seem to be precalculated when exporting, so you will be clipping off the first few milliseconds of your track, i fix this by moxing the whole track by 1 bar.

regarding to

Waves.All.Plugins.Bundle.v9r20-R2R

workaround for MPC Studio&Renaissance.

In all former releases it was ok to point inside the MPC software to the extracted Plugins (extracted the usual way due shell2vst)
With this release the MPC Software will crash. You have to point to the patched waveshell. Then everything is fine again.
It´s also no problem to point inside MPC software to the Waveshell and Point DAW (in my case S1 x64 and cubase 7.5 x64)to the extracted plugin folder.
MPC will work in VST mode like a charm + you can use Wave plugins in VST + on Channel/Bus etc. inside DAW in the same project at the same time without any issues or crashes..
