Saw news about this monstrosity today. A 365 parameter compressor plugin!

I have no idea why the dev thought anyone would ever need that many parameters, but I guess he won't get any complaints from the people who usually nitpicks about not having access to certain parameters.

The GUI is nothing spectacular, but the metering, analyzer and curve graph seems pretty good. Will be interesting to see what people think of it. If it was a big developer like UVI, Waves or Acustica who made it I'm sure there would be tons of YouTube channels making videos praising it and people on GS who would gush about it, but since it's the first plugin from a small developer I'm sure the reviews and opinions will be a bit more sane and honest.

For anyone interested it's only €19, which I think seems more than fair.

Edit: The dev also made a short 2 hour 45 min walkthrough divided into 23 videos https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwxiq9tONwIUf693g-CgQK3ZpkqppLIYP

the question is how many of those parameters improve the experience and how many of them detract

I think if it would be 50/50, it would be a good ratio, still I suspect that it is rather more parameters that you don't want to touch.

I like the slider that suggests you can choose the version of the software just by moving it

    Woah!
Part of me is going "Cool!" because I'm a curious 48yo. But another part of me go "NooOoo!1!!!" because my brain realizes that it took me about 20 years to fully understand VCA/FET/opto and compression and parallel compression, etc. So I'm both excited and scared. Interesting feeling. Unfortunately, time is getting exponentially more "expensive" for me so I think I will skip this one.

I'm really glad this exists. It won't be for everybody but there is a user base out there that are going to absolutely love it. Kudos for pushing the boundaries, I'm quite impressed. I look forward to trying it out.

It reminds me a little bit of the Tranzistow synth.

something like 2500 parameters (per patch, 4 patches multimbral) on 13 main pages (+ another 13 pages with hidden parameters)

It is a pseudo reproduction of the John Bowen solaris. I have it AT home and done more than 280 patchs for it. The guy of transistow (hrast) helped John Bowen on the New os by doing the FM.osc part

I stay away from Tone Projects Unisum, various Rob Papen FX and most of the Fluxies because of too many parameters, I know I couldn't keep my hands off them - and waste my time.
One of my favourite compressors has a Boost knob...
But I appreciate the work and think that some sound nerds are looking foward to try it. And at that price tag...

I agree, it is a total nerd thing. For most people though simplicity and “ease of use” is the most important feature. If there is a tool that will get the job done in half the time and using half the energy, for professionals that will be the way to go, even if it is twice as expensive.

    Simple use case :
-take 1 of the 80 other compressor presets and turn headroom knob = you have 80 Comps as 1 knob buttons for 19€

It's a go to plug-in if you know what you want it to do and how.

Yet it's a must stay away from if you don't know what you want from the sound or how to get it.

It can probably do everything and so you could get trapped for years playing with it.
