It's music based on fear. And mistakes.

It takes guts to say this. Because talking about jazz is one of the taboos in music and no one has the right to say a non-praising thing about it.

Please enlighten everyone how you became such a music GURU to facilitate such an ambiguous statement not based on any documented fact.
You must know more than every musician who has played their entire life so if you think I am angry, you'd be incorrect.
I dislike abject, uneducated ignorance. Prove me and every musician who has done it for decades wrong, or as I suggested, STFU. :trolls:

Actually if you wish to delve deeper, Reaper and nearly every decent DAW can do microtones to 100 increments exactly ;)
This is why the OP needs to change their drug supplier. Sometimes in humor I would say "Can I have some of the drugs you are taking?" - This is NOT one of those times.

I got that... but the thing is Reaper and Cubase are the two best microtonal NOTE composers around. You can write microtones too. As one example the Maqamat scales can be written. If given to a traditional player the microtones will occur all on their own. There are microtonal notation charts for the entire structure out there. It won't be long before the popular DAW's have them bundled in.

See, there are many opinions and comments here and most of them are against mine. It takes a lot of time to answer these comments, and I'll just summarize something that I've repeated several times:

If the notes are not understood correctly, nothing positive will happen to your music. No matter how you try to reduce the effect of the notes with other factors, you will not succeed. Millions of people before you, as well as millions of people at the same time as you, are conspiring to destroy the effect of notes in music, but none of them have succeeded and will not.
So it is better that you don't make fruitless efforts in the opposite direction and start understanding the notes from today that this is best for you.:winker:

Music predates notes. Maybe by only understanding music with-in the confines of notes it is you who fails to understand music.

I'll play. In my 50+ years of music I've met 3 types of people: 1/3rd are into music to get laid, another 1/3rd are into music for the drugs and the last 1/3rd are actually interested in music and of that 1/3rd, only about 1 in 10 are any good at composing. So it could be said that only those 1/10th of those 1/3rd are any good with notes. I like everyone's comedic replies better than mine though!

In this life, with rarity, we come across a unique human being who is so stubborn, unresearched, and unwilling to consider any point other than their own, resulting in them being incapable of learning anything properly.
CONGRATULATIONS !! You are one of these.

P.S. - I asked myself if might be deflecting away from myself by saying this and honestly, while on the surface anything is possible, it is unlikely a piece of paper which says I successfully navigated the most extreme levels of research, says that.
