After a long time I left Sierra for Monterey: very bad...

As soon as I tried to open the KG for Imposcar (GForce_RSA128_KeyGen.exe) I realized that I will have a lot of problems.

So I read some of your suggestions that indicated Crossover as the best solution.
Well, I installed it (24.0.3 version) but, after creating a Crossover bottle and tried to Install the KG inside it clicking 'Install', nothing happens... it doesn't go ahead to really install the KG.

Could someone who has already been through the same pain as me give me help and some simple, clear, step-by-step and precise advice to succeed in this undertaking?

Is your system running on a Hackintosh , Ryzentosh ? (or whatever the name ^^)
Mine does and I have a similar issue, I can't make virtualization work...

 

I have the solution.

I made this a couple years ago and now I just drop an KG on it and they all open.
One thing to remember you cannot drop a KG from a folder it must be directly from the desktop.
Works on my old intel and new M1 Ultra.

1-Open with ... crossover
2-In "You must select the bottle where to install", choose one (or create)
3-Click on install
4-Voilá

I use CrossOver on Intel, Ventura and I've never messed with bottles, installing, etc.

Launch CrossOver. Go to File > Open. Find your keygen. Done.

 

It wasn't as obvious in Crossover versions earlier than about v20, but we are always technically using a wine "Bottle". If you do not delete them, they can take up space on that drive. Usually about 500mb on your Mac's internal SSD per newly created bottle. Older versions of Crossover (and Wineskin,etc); would just create a new bottle each time and you have to find and go delete it. In newer versions of Crossover, the bottles on your Mac show up on the left side of the Crossover interface. You can decide to install your keygen into a new bottle, or pick an old one from the dropdown menu in Crossover. You can also tell it what bottle you want to make (like Windows 10). If you use an old one, you can re-use it by installing more keygens into it. A large portion of the delay in load time of your keygen is the time it takes to actually build a new bottle. If you can re-use an older bottle, the keygen will execute almost instantly. If you have a weird result after re-using a bottle a few times, just make a new one. But you do not need to do that anywhere close to every time you run a kg.

I stand corrected . I figure I've got a few bottles to delete, so I launched CrossOver (version 24.0) and looked on the left side and it shows only one. Within that bottle, there's only one keygen. Do you happen to know where else they may be? I must have 5-10 of them somewhere to delete.

 

I always use vmware Fusion also under M2. But with M2 you need an ARM Win 10 / 11 build!

I tried, also tried Crossover, but no real luck here... I stick on Fusion, even it was a pain to install it, but once installed it's solid.

 

On Tuesday, I installed Monterey after putting in an internal SSD 500Gb, so there is nothing left on the HD... just Monterey, Photoshop and nothing else. Maybe that's why Crossroad doesn't work?

Do I have to install things like Brew, XCode, X11 or others software/magical maneuvers before everything works or are they not needed?

If so can you give me useful advice?


P.S.: Damn, on Sierra I used to use KeyGen APP and everything was so simple

You are going to need XCode so you can codesign anything. All I use that requires Brew is Binchunker; at least that I remember needing it for. I use that command line utility often enough for creating .iso files from old .bin .cue releases.

These new MacOS version/ARM processor related "problems" have already been solved by others, or they would be a constant subject of complaint/discussion. You just have to find out how people are dealing with them.

So for Keygens and Crossover, I'm not certain. But I do not think you need Xcode installed to use Crossover.app, and that is generally where people run kg and any other windows software; like Windows plugins using Audiogridder aka Crossgridder.

For Codesigning, I want to say you need Xcode installed. But it and Brew are one of the first things I will install in the rare event I reinstall MacOS from scratch. I asked ChatGPT and this is what it says, and is a more complete answer.
