How to make 'Vocal Synth' Sounds

Discussion in 'Working with Sound' started by Vincent Price, Jun 16, 2024.

  1. Hello

I am wondering if any of you could teach me how to make this 'vocal synth' sound as shown on the video below. I'm wanting to learn so I can use them in my future music

    Thanks

how I would do it... grab any speech sample or vocal packs, slice them and cut them at different words, pitch them around, and then play them. also, there are many sample packs with similar sounds already made but i think this is the easiest way to make them from scratch. you always have to start with some kind of vocal base. i guess instead of a sample you could also use some synths with have good control over wavetables or formant filters etc.
im just a noob though, let's see what experts have to say

it is a vocal with some reverb probably convolution reverb and it sounds pitched up somewhat
autotune maybe? also this could be found in some kontakt library vocal beds.. or maybe nexus preset in vocal category

Don't know, but i would try izotope vocal synth or something similar. Maybe synaptic morph blending a pitched up vocal and some kind of eastern instrument and a lot of reverb. Just throwing ideas here.

crude example using your own voice in the video, 2 minutes just cutting up some vowels and pitching them up. the rest is effects, choosing the right words/syllables, pitching up well, etc. you can hear that the original has a sort of "hey" in it. it's either a sample or as the others suggested a synth/rompler/etc.

Love what he did with the vocals...

Minimal Audio Current has some similar vocal synth presets.
