Not of this particular one, but I would check out Bob Dule's excellent work for the Windows side of Kontakt use, as seems to me (from the outside) to have people covered well. And R2R's utilities...

For Windows it is all taken care of, there is a library manager built into Kontakt. Use bobdule's full version or vkDanilov's portable version.
Both are almost exactly the same, the difference is in how Kontakt is installed, rather than what is installed.
Maybe someone else can chime in on the differences. The full version could have extra features that not all would use.

Meanwhile, back on the Mac, I have posted Version 2.3.1 on the first post of this thread, as usual.
Make the most of it as I'm not sure I'll be updating KLU anymore…

Thanks for such helpful work Fred. KLU is the thing I use when need a nicnt or change the library order. I love your Profile Pic of John Cleese in the classic Python outfit. Thanks!

Excited to check out the new update, will in the am, and I have spent a large part of my day, and the last few weeks, on my new system with the previous... and it has been great.

The world needs you Fred. Thank you for all.

A big shoutout to those who bought me a coffee. It's much appreciated. I love coffee but also the physical sign of appreciation that comes with it :mates:. There are a couple of anonymous donors… you know who you are:winker: … you are not forgotten either :).

Hey, @Fred Bloggs , I'm just checking, but with using Kontakt in this "fashion" you would not recommend giving Full Disk Access to the NTK Daemon and whatnot as NI suggests etc I would imagine correct?

I have Kontakt with full disk access, as I imagine it needs it, but I'm just crossing my t's and dotting my I's here to make sure I'm on the right side of things.

edit add: and another question, I've been adding my long history of libraries and whatnot, and I'm going to trim it down for one 4tb SSD for easy travel and speed, when one adds a library via KLU 2x, and then one moves it to another drive, you just have to 'relocate' it or relink it within KLU fortunately without ever going near NA. I have never booted NA, I don't even know if it's installed on my system right now, and I see no reason to go near it correct?

    Thanks again for all.

    Mmmmm… let's see if I got all that…
KLU would certainly need full access to the disk(s) where your libraries are. Don't worry! It minds its own business!
You will always need to re-link libraries when you move them, even into a different folder. There are several options to do this and this has been spoken of already in this thread. KLU can do it. Drop a moved (installed ) library into KLU's NICNT utilities window and will show the path that Kontakt has stored and the path where it actually is. Just click the "Relink" button.
If you are using, or have, Kontakt 6, it does this with the search function.
You can do it by hand by altering the path in the main preferences plist file.
No need to use Native Access at all…

Thank you for continuing to provide KLU support! It's invaluable to us Mac users.

Yeah, I'm not worried about KLU climbing up my jiggy.... just NI (and I am a legit owner of their offerings, but I only use Kontakt pretty much at this point, as have been with it since v1, and they have deprecated pretty much everything else I have liked (even Kontakt, but thanks to your efforts...it's workable... now if only one could get it to remember different folder locations on different drives on top in the old sidebar fashion, rather then their new library shilltastic approach, as quick load can get bloated and slow things, doesn't work with snapshots, (that I know of), and drive file tree diving is a pita. Toss in their loss of database functionality in the old fashion (again, perhaps something I am missing, but I read their manuals, and I don't think so..)..

Yeah, I figured the "relink" would work just fine, just wanted to double check, sorry if it was earlier in the thread...

I just have read about different people using NA for different things in regards to K7 on macOS, , and suggesting to others, and it seemed like a bad idea to me, as I see NO reason to go near it, ... and you put that to bed.

    thank you.

    Hi Guys
First of all big THX to Fred the creator of this tool ! But i have to say it seems that i am to stupid for this tool. Have a new Mac Mini m2 and tried to install Glace Instrument into Kontakt 7 now for about 2+ hours without any luck. When i rey to open a instrument in Glace i always get file missing ;-( The newest version of KLU is crashing often on Sonoma 14.5. Is there anyone who is willing to help how to install a Library ? Thank you in advance !

Search "Kontakt Scripts" on sister site. You'll find them. Also they come in the ISO of HCiSO's Kontakt. Pretty sure they were in 7.10.5 along with creator's tools, Fredd's KLU & Other tools & tons of other scripts & soft for windows.

Yes Kitty's scripts can work sometimes but not too reliably anymore
Anyway, if KLU doesn't work, Kitty scripts won't either !
The most important thing @ryu_shiro_878 said there was "with a valid nicnt", but you didn't say much about what you wanted to install, so I can't really help without more info.

The only library that I had to use Kontakt 5.4 to install was Sample Modeling Trombone v3. Unlike Paid libraries that work with just generating nicnt from KLU, this one has nkx protection. I had a rough time getting it in.

Also, there still isn't any xml for Trombone v3. I don't know where the info of it being added is stored. It doesn't even appear in the KLU installed libraries list. So, there's no way to organize it. The come around for that -- I had to generate a nicnt with a different name for it. Then add that. Hide the original that shows in Kontakt.

Is there anything I'm missing. Isn't there any modern solution to get such libs in kontakt.
