There's nothing unusual about that, it happens a lot. If you're thinking of buying it, go for it before Andertons put the price up or wait until BF and get it even cheaper

Has anyone here got a ToneX/ToneX One pedal, and can confirm using it successfully with no issues, using the IK ToneX software release(s) from the sister site?
    Thank you!

Add 20,99£ to the price if you live outside UK its for "International Delivery - Europe Delivery" L.O.L I really wonder how they came up with that price is it some extra cost to transfer the software via internet to countrys outside UK?
But its good they offer free shipping within UK :)
Anyway it is the best price i can find right now

It seems IK has a sell going on right now as i went to their website and ToneX Max now cost 199,99€
But it still ~25€ cheaper to get it from Anderton as 149£ is ~175€ right now.

as to my knowledge Nam within audio assault gets you everything you need, and cheap., Tonocracy is also free and you can run NAM
I compared them against each other with the same exact NAM profiles, they sound identical accept the free OD pedals in Audio Assault blew them out of the water., most of Audio Assaults plugins react like real amps, they are never perfect captures through but with NAM the pedals behave very well like real asymmetrical and Germanic (SD1, Clone, Sen Drive, Mahoney) and symmetrical (TS) circuits..a bit limited in range but im sure they will expand.

The IK Stuff looks great, feels great but something about it lacks crunch, I cant get the same results with all the Marshall's, only the AFD Slash ones sounds ok, but not warm like the Howard Benson by STL, or several from Kuassa, all the other Marshalls besides jmp plexis or JMP2203s are identical garbage, example all the solid states valve state stuff and even many JCM800-900 sounds close, I think after Howard Benson, Kuassa the only decent Marshall sims are Nembrini Van Hallen one, I forgot the model now.., like I said the solid state all sound same like soldanos and Engels do., thats easy to capture, no warm tune tones...

Then of course you have NAM captures of 1984-1989 Plexis, as well as the 2203 JMP versions. like John Sykes which blend the plexis..they seem to sound close but when you play you can feel the difference cause you hear more of what your hands do like chuck, spank, cringe etc

AA plugins isn't captures (altought they includede some captures when they introduced the snaphotplayer which could load NAM captures)
They use algorithmic method to code their amps and believe me they are far from perfect and realistic to the original amps especially if you use their cabs you can get more close if you use high quality IR's instead like York Audio, Ownhammer.
AA teamed up with Seacow Cabs some years ago and altough Seacow has improved their IR captures over the years they arent as good as the ones mention above and many others like Bogren, Mirror Profiles, ML Soundlabs,

They always miss something in the frequency spectrum but then again ALL modeled amps does miss something even the hyped Fractal FX.

However the difference today is so minimal that you never hear it unless you listen very carefully and also use high quality speakers/headphones

In a band situation or in a full mix noone can say they hear "oh this is an AA plugin" or "this is Line6" which they used to say about the old Pod units "i can always tell it's Line 6 beacuse of the plastic digital sound" bla bla etc etc
(They lied of course since Pod has been on countless records and noone could ever tell oh it was recorded with a Pod)

As for the difference between ToneX and N.A.M it is minimal their is scientific proof of that where they have made captures of a real amp of both methods and then run the captures agains eachother on a frequancy analyser.

Some say they hear this and that which we guitarist tends to do ALL THE TIME thats why all other bandmembers call us tone chasers and we did that before the digital revolution and we continue to this day to do so and i bet we never stop chasing better tones.

And then we have those who doesnt care and just PLAY GUITAR thrue anything and is just happy to creates song and melodys instead of searching for a specific tone.
I used to be that guy now i am a tone chaser

There is no doubt that Ik Multimedia Tonnex is great but amplitube sounds like paper, their sd1 and other fx are mediocre, their Marshall Slash AFD is ok but Audio assault has to have the best AFD, JTM45, 35, JCM800 is really nice cause you can push it with other plugins on a channel stripes their sims take effects very well and allot of people dont know they can use both Pre-amp fx and Post fx in combination, I accidentally did this in the post effects section by loading a COMP pedal there, their sims have a pre-amp sag stage which helps toning a sweet spot, they also drop and jump in volume when you combine vol gain vol for a boost,

im really very impressed by what Steve did with NAM
-Tonocracy sounds Wonderfull, its free, I just dont like the effects but nam effects carry

-Audio Assault with NAM is got to be the best out there, they have the impact option in theca section that acts like the Bogren IRDX speaker dynamic behaviour, this company needs to add just a few more things and they are on top the map big time, things like pitch, stereo level control and its insane how cheap they are., they def in the times and addictive for anyone any style, at least in the last months for me., AA also has capture but it seems to be very early to tell where its going, but they been on top of the game now.

-IK Multimedia amplitube, sounds shady, its so plastic, you think its there but when you compare to Tonnex or nam its a joke., maybe they can update it all.

-STL has the Howard Benson Marshall 50w which is dead on, they nailed it from the start, their iOS cab sections sounds like its got the Bogren IRDX some of the other STL plus are ok but you can replace them with Mercurial., im surprised they did not integrate a capture cause they do this for outboard gear with using TONEHUB.

-Mercurial rocks. great sims! their Marshall is designed after Steve Stevens I think, he uses it as well on the road!, im also suprised they did not provide some sort of amp capture

So whats the end game here if all our captures will sound identical and top notch? I said GUI mod options and pedal board support., im again surprised the support for BT pedals etc are not a thing of the day, the IK Blueboard sucks, but can you guys imagine decent priced boards that are linked to all these plugins, I means the future is now so where we going if they are not under $50

Hey there my guy, I'm a bit late to the party but any chance I can get my hands on those capture packs? (I too have dropped quite a bit of cash supporting some of the guys who make the best ones)

    Many thanks for your work!

    Also first post here.

Long-time reader, many howdies to all!

    Thanks a heap, champ!

Also many thanks to funkdialout, so stoked I found this...

I would just repeat the sharing mantra of the scene legends themselves : 'Buy what you use!'

These tiny folks making these caps are doing sick work in many cases, I intend to throw them some more coin after I see which stuff actually works for me and my playstyle/signal chain.

(Although, impossible to know if you are going to use something unless you try it first, which is super hard to do with this type of thing since listening to audio played through someone else's guitar setup tells you NOTHING!!)

Peace all! Such a sick thread
