scene wise, it seems the best stuff is simply ignored and what we are left with is mostly just same-ol', same-ol'. a nice change of pace from the deluge of mediocrity would be to get greeted with some truly fine examples that are for the most part over looked. some say this oversight is because of impossible protections and impenetrable locks meant to keep us all paying out the arse forever. but as we have seen the witches are much wiser and more crafty than they let on. the locks and protections are hardly the issue. there is some other reason for why we are left swimming, for the most part, in a sea of mediocrity. 23 & 24 (thus far) have produced some fetching releases, but nothing stellar yet. that is what I await...

Doesn't exist, otherwise all those famous mixing and mastering engineers would use the same plugins.

sausage fattenter. Lets be real, if you arent using sausage fattener in 2024, are you even mixing?? Lush, full bodied, vibrant transients, extreme detail in the top end, fat round bottom, transparent yet in your face, one of the most critically acclaimed plugins of all time. It will transform you mixes like no other. STOP youtube tutorials!! STOP torrenting Acustica Audio plugins!! STOP paying for stinky old subscriptions from uNivErsAl aUdiO!! STOP practicing piano!! FORGET about dumb autotune!! BUY SAUSAGE FATTENER and never look back!

"i used to rely on stupid plugins like Serum, Massive and Fab Filter, and i never had any success. I switched to Sausage Fatnnnerer and was immediately hired by Jurstin Beber to produce his songs" - Skrillex

"i grew up twisting a bunch of crusty old knobs on hardware, and my mixes always sounded TERRIBLE!! I tried the Soosauge Futner by Doodoo LUFS, and my mixes just came alive! I sold my entire studio, and bought as many copies of the plugin my 2012 MB AIR could run. Im now a world famous mix engineer." - Chris Lord-Alge

I have my doubt since there are more than 4500 plugins released.

Well, we live in times where there's barely any distinction between Necessity & Avarice. Even I suffer from this deadly sin at times. Temperance is a rare virtue. Anyways I say:

Oh! I member'. The days when they used to work on tape. There's not a single listenable thing of that era I reckon. It's only due to these wonderful plugins that things sound good now. I get a instrument library & by golly, it creates wonder by itself. Each one different. So, I collect more like a pirate searches through chests looking for that one treasure dug deep that'll make him rich for life. Oh! poor folks of old who never new what delight music can cause to one's mind. By golly, if not for these modern plugins, we'd never have known what music is.

The only answer I can give is "these are the plugins I've noticed I've been using a lot recently" :

    UrsaDSP - Boost
    Newfangled Audio - Elevate Bundle
Yum Audio - Slap & Crispy Clip
    Leapwing Audio - CenterOne
Polyverse - Supermodal & Filterverse & Manipulator (never gets old)
    Sonible - SmartComp2 & SmartLimit
    Sound Radix - Powair
    Eventide - SplitEQ

Then the usual suspects that have been part of my workflow for a while now : FabFilter, Valhalla, u-he, Kush, Zynaptiq...

Ok, I don't want to sound like a cranky old bastard, but I am so here goes:

Pretty much the same as '22-'23, but this go-around read the goddamn manuals! Just kidding, kind of. No, not all of them are fun, but they sure the hell beats out quickly preset surfing and random knobtwiddling. At least works for me.
