    Is this a one-trick Beatles/Zep overdrive or can it be the one and only?
    How does it compare to other overdrive pedals like Boss SD-1?

    I own several classic distortion, overdrive and fuzz pedals but never used any live, I've always used high gain valve amps like Ampeg, Fender, VOX, Sound City, Hiwatt, Traynor, Marshall and just bridged the inputs and had all the distortion that any pedal could have. The sound of a cranked up valve amp was the only way to go for my sound. If anything extra I had a master gain control installed for those amps that didn't have one.
