any feedback about this "magic" plugin?

I havent tried it at all, will add my comments eventually. I just watched a bunch of videos from the Youtube Scientists, and it seems that it has almost no settings at all, mayybe 1-2 things to tweak and it's GRAMMY TIME lol

would like to hear what you guys think
    lessgooooooo serbans people!

I haven't tried it yet but I'm confident it must be a great "soundgoodizer". I can't wait to hear, analyze and compare against other similar processors.

interesting, but what do you mean "maximizer"? some kind of a limiter?

from what I saw it doesnt have a threshold and attack-release controls, it just can "limit" high frequencies but giving his own sound, no parameters available for that. Even the input gain seems to be a gain trim only, cant this it like a maximizer actually

I demo'ed it. Not even to hear how it sounds, cuz I'm probably not going to buy it. I honestly just wanted to see how it would fare in Plugindoctor, i was curious because I've been hearing so much about it.

So yeah, not bad at all, especially considering that it was still functioning at 768kHz with a consistent linear response (across sample rates i mean), which is an important thing to look for when evaluating a plugins compatibility with higher sample rates. This is true ESPECIALLY in the low end, for both frequency AND phase. Even at 192k (4x OS), there was still some noticeable aliasing as soon as the sine sweep went above -12dB or so (though this is likely only significant for a signal with lots of high frequency content). Personally, I would only use this plugin if you have oversampling options such as DDMF Metaplugin, Blue Cat Patchwork, or Reaper. Otherwise (at 44.1 - 96), there's far too much aliasing and intermodulation distortion imo. Still miles better than Rabbit Tape tho lmaoo

I think people will insert any plugin to a chain you want, if you give them a free copy and pay them to say they used it.

Not to say anything bad about this plugin or the hardware, as I have not demo'd it. These "endorsements" are meaningless. No-one is winning a Grammy due to a "secret weapon".

I changed the "maximizer" for "soundgoodizer" and just saw that this name refers to a FL Studio plugin... In short, this plugin seems to act as an instant gratification processor by dynamically and harmonically densifying the signal and smooth out the edges like "an ideal dream analog mastering chain + tape" would do.

Someone commented on AZ that this did not sound like the original hardware. Does that actually matter? How many plugins actually DO sound like their supposed hardware counterparts? Not many in my experience. Basically you just have to try it, and if it works with your flow then huzzah! If not just delete it and move on..

Waves plugins and dirty patch bays make grammy winners, i don't know about this tool, but for sure more grammys were won with L2 stacked at the end of a mixbus than Serban himself. I also think Decapitator by Soundtoys had won a quite amount of grammys. Let's see if this plugin can beat the OGs of ITB mixing

I'm so busy I haven't even get to try this thing yet, just read the manual roughly figured it is not really what I expect, I thought of it as something else. Lol. Anyway, also happy to see iLok/Wrapwarden stuff getting released.

Just a reminder, the plugin alone won't give you any Grammy award or nomination. It's this exact preset! See how the plugin change color to gold, signalling that shinny little thing is on its way to you.

I used the plugin on a recent project on the and the client actually said that he really likes how the final track sounds. I admit that I really like the mid-focus this plugin seems to give, but I guess my mix was also part of the reason he liked it, or maybe the song itself. Anyway, I love plugins.

Serban Ghenea - The One - Gold Skin

But if you change any parameter on Serban's preset you're going red skin again because you're a noob just like Maor Appelbaum or the other folks that did presets for this plugin

Tried it. There's something about the saturation that sounds too familiar, in a "i'm pretty sure i have at least 3 other plugins that sound the same" kind of way.

Maybe i'm just tired of trying plugins. Idk.

Serban has never endorsed anything as far as i understand. Im quite sure he's been hounded by waves and everyone else too. I think this is marketed as serban's secret weapon because he uses the hardware. Either way, endorsements are stupid. Does it sound good, use it, it doesnt, dont.

Its actually based on another SPL hardware unit, not the vitalizer. The SPL Machinehead. SPL Vitalizer is its own thing, they just came out with mk3. Picking one up sometime soon.

I think I read that he hasn't, in their marketing material for the plugin. I believe in endorsements as much as I believe in "secret weapons" and "stash kits". And plugins "that are the same as using a $10,000+ hardware version" while I'm at it. Just like the $14,000 Elysia Alpha Mastering hardware unit Plugin Alliance turned into a $300 plugin you can buy "on sale" every day, for like $12.99. I read Metric Halo was involved in the programming of this plugin. SPL have a number of plugins via Plugin Alliance.

The thread title, and more in the original post; are about the marketing than the "magic" plugin. But since you mentioned Waves, (who also do this "celebri-mixer" marketing) People will be using those plugins and getting their money's worth from them for many years, or already have. You won't hear about this plugin in another year or two from now.

So, a digital emulation, of an all digital hardware box (not even analogue inputs), that digitally emulated analogue tape? What a time to be alive.

Similar vibes to Schwabe Digital emulating the FL Soft Clipper lol

Thanks to the witches for letting me entertain this without the bullshit of ilok.

it is a similar vibe as orange clip lol, but it does sound good. in my testings, its very musical, capable of really being pushed.
