synth racks

    so i have roland jv but i dont like having it on my table in my room so i thought i buy a synth rack of wood or metal but as i quite dont understand how big they are could someone tell me what kind of rack i could buy for such rack synths and where could i buy it?

    You mentioned "synth rack" (which kinda implies for keyboards and it's huge). And you mentioned Roland JV (like a JV-1080?), which leads me to think you want a 19" rack. Those are very common and available online from many sources. I have one of these. It was about $300 and holds six units.

    This is a synth rack. It's $1500 and very big. I had one of these at one time, but I don't have any of these synths any longer:

    It depends what JV you have eg. JV-880 is 1U and JV-1080 is 2U (double the JV-880)

    They sell them at most music stores online like thomann.de if you search Studio Rack/Studio U Rack on that site there's a few:
    Millenium Steel Box 2 (Also a 3, 4, 6 and 8 version). Also sometimes people hand make them of out of wood on eBay or you may find wood ones at other music stores online. You can even buy the tracks and make your own too.
    You can also search eBay for: "u rack mount studio" as lots of other designs available too.
    You will also need a set of these 'M6 Studio Rack Mount Nuts Bolts Washers' to secure it in place:

    Depends on how much you want to spend and your studio room real estate available :dunno: If you plan on buying more rack synths etc., you could get yourself a proper new/used 16 space rack road case you can roll around your room as needed. That way its not only easy to move around, it protects the gear better than anything else. Or you could DIY build one yourself with scrap wood and a few screws (measure twice, cut once :hillbilly:). Then there are really nice high dollar full studio desks that have built in rack space.. I have all three options in my spot.

    Life hack: those $7 Ikea Lask tables can take 19" units and you can get rack mount slats and screws to attach.... I've done it before...

    could depend on weight and whatnot...

    but there are cheap solutions out there.

    I used to spend my whole damn life surrounded by rack mount units.... sigh...

    I'm using On-Stage A-Frame stand. No complaints. People try to use them in a live setting and break them, especially the elbow connectors. They are like $20 or $30 to replace.

    And these for racks. 80 bucks on Amazon. You have to get a hardware kit which is the backing connector and the screws. They are very well built for the price.
