Double or multitracking is used a lot more than I thought. To add body, indeed,
Being a metalhead I knew that rhythm guitars (highly panned left and right) are often double, quad or even more times tracked. To get that famous wall of sound.

My surprise came when I saw a video showing how main vocalists are often also multitracked. I think it was about Taylor Swift. Please Taylor don't sue me, will ya...
Obviously this time the result is a mono track. They combine the best takes carefully time-aligning them to sound as a single person and take. The improvement is quite amazing.

That's a really strange way to look at it ngl. It's like the Hollywood looking at Japanese anime and want to make their version of it and we all know how it will turn out to be at the end. Lol.

i often wonder at comments where people discredit songs as not real music or whatever. Gimme More was a huge song. I personally LOVE it. I live and breathe disgusting ambient techno, I wake up everyday and put on one of my 2,000 vinyl hand selected from crate digging, I make terrible sync music for a living, i grew up on metal, punk, and hip hop, and i can still appreciate a Britney banger!!

As for the mystery kick, i agree with another comment here, that multitrack stems are unreliable. its probably from guitar hero or something, and who knows what they did to the actual stems in that process.

Alright, thanks for all your answering. Evertbody said its delay type trick, but look again at my kick screen https://imgur.com/a/ba3AtIK . These two IDENTical without any delay on track. And still not mono. Its done intentionally cause there is perc there that is really mono. Why and How?

so you're saying it takes a lot of nasty shit to grow pretty flowers? amirite?
As mom used to say, choose your friends wisely they will shape you...

so too choose your studies wisely they will shape you. There is nothing inherently wrong with spending hours/days/weeks studying one particular style of pop music, "female" idols. but it still leaves an ocean of music left untouched. My beef isn't with Britney nor her producers, its that there are many more demanding and interesting style of music one could spend ones time learning about and understanding.

I'd rather know a wide array of music from the decades of production and understand how one genre influenced or helped create another. How taste has changed as musical recording and reproduction gear has gotten incredibly improved over the years, and how the gear has influenced the producers.

But still without writers and musicians, producers are just guys with nothing to do. So understand the writers and musicians too and understand how music becomes a mirror much like the mirror in a laser, that amplifies societal trends and ideas and can program societies to act in certain ways - some desirable, some not...

Music is much more than Brittany Spears, no matter how much affection you hold for her and whats been created in her name.

I think we can all agree her career while financially quite lucrative was less then helpful to her personal life and mental health. There was poison in the changes it made to her, can such music truly be called healthy or desirable, even if it produces shedloads of money?
