How does one automatically export multiple sample CD clips little to no cutoff?

Yes, I am aware of the whole using Audacity labels then export all labeled samples method, and while that has served me mostly well, I cannot help but go total OCD mode whenever the labeling/threshold doesn't salvage every itty-bitty waveform and leave out the full blown -inf dB.

What I'm basically trying to accomplish is to nab each and every sample within a sample CD track that has virtually silent intervals (provided said intervals aren't muddy, unsteady noise or humming artifacts, becoming indeterminate from silence) without any algorithm nibbling off the beginning or trail off of the samples in question-- simply give me anything but the dead silence (-inf dB), and batch export those clips.

I have Audition in my arsenal but cannot seem to get a similar method going as seeking tutorials on Google and YouTube inevitably mistakes "multiple" with "multitrack" despite the accompanying search terms I input.

Any and all suggestions, so long as it's doable on a Mac is greatly appreciated!

I would use Waveknife if I had to do this. There are other ways, but is probably the best. It is an old PC program, but you would be able to run it inside Crossover. It's a small program.

I would do that for a hw sampler or similar purpose. Otherwise, I just leave the track alone, and reimport and chop it in Logic when I want to use those samples. Logic has a function called Split At Playhead and I use it for almost all cutting. I have it set as a key command for Command+T. Because Control+R is repeat command. I do not like to use "loop" setting in the Region Inspector. I'd rather repeat a bunch of copies. Old habit. That way it is all cut up and I can use Mute checkbox in Region Inspector on any little segment I want.

Very well, I'll keep this forum open but I'll also try Waveknife as well. Thank you!

Thank you very much, clone! I've used it already and it works much to my expectations. My only concern now is what I've heard of it's capabilities, for the initial case that lead me to post this question was that the files are 16-bit WAVs- waveknife, at least from hearsay only supports 16-bit wavs, which is all fine and dandy for more legacy Sample CD tracks, I'm not sure if this stands true or not, though given how old the software is I wouldn't be surprised if that were the limit. I'll also be sure to delve into your Logic Pro method as well!

because of it being redbook discs:

    upload_2024-5-18_15-10-37.jpeg

Red Book is the standard for audio CDs (Compact Disc Digital Audio system, or CD-DA) an audio content medium digitized at 44,100 samples per second (44.1KHz) and in a range of 65,536 possible values or 16 bits. It allowed up to 79.57 minutes of digital audio on one disc or 99 tracks.

You can also use binchunker if what you download is a .bin .cue format to create a mountable ISO, and it can also write all the channels to wav if you use the bchunk -w (additional data) command.
You need Homebrew installed for that: https://formulae.brew.sh/formula/bchunk
