    Thanks, man, sounds great!
Are those captures from real amps or plugins?

Some cool Mendel DI captures. Don't post these on tonehunt as it's against that site rules.

... just to revive this interesting topic.
The pedal is 595 € and on pre-order right now.
But i'm hesitating. I guess it needs a bit more time and feedback to develop first.

What do you fellow guitargearmaniacs think?

It's a bit pricey and probably needs a few tweaks. It's also possible that a rival company might jump in with new hardware, so I'd wait and see how how things develop. However, this new NAM technology is a game-changer (alas still a little clunky), and I'm always finding new ways of using it. Don't overlook the outboard captures either, as there is some nice stuff there.

Yep, thats what i think, too.
Since it's Open Source, it's very likely that we will see another (or even two) company tryin to build sth like this.
    And possibly way cheaper.
I guess it's just the GAS that makes me want it right now.

NAM works fine with a decent audio interface, so I would spend the money there first if you don't already have one. I also like to reamp DI guitar & bass tracks, as there are so many creative possibilities available to us these days.

Thats true, and it only just begun.
But in this case, i'm really wanting this, cause i want to use it in a band context, live and on stage.
Thats why i'm so excited bout the pedal format!

O.5ms latency is perfect for that.

You only have to convert it to a stem and it's done. That's why I reamp everything.

Try using a NAM fuzz or OD before Helix Native and see what happens.

On my side, i'm more and more going to be a laptop guitarist.
Because iPad is too limited, it is a mess to make a signal chain with several different app makers/formats.
And a lot less options (plugins,routing...) than computer.
When you put all the needed hardware (foot controller, soundcard ...), it is NOT portable any more.

Hardware multifx are loosing their value too fast : you pay big bucks and some years later, they lost half their value.
I still use GE200 because it is convenient ... but will probably drop it soon.

My next rig : laptop, soundcard, midi pedal (FCB1010 or Line6 FBV MKII USB i already use) and roll.
So i can change software when i want, backing tracks, learning online, stack a pile of plugins from any maker, free MIDI / Audio routing, MIDI guitar ... everything on the same laptop.
And if i find it to be fragile on stage, i can put it under a glass cube ;D

I'm not going to put my money into "soon obsolete" hardware any more.
Even less into cumbersome solutions like ToneX pedal, who need ANOTHER multiFX after it ... without patch synchronisation.

I'm bored with those half backed expansive hardware "solutions".
Think about price/quality ratio AND flexibility with free NAM plugin vs Kemper, Quad Cortex ... and even ToneX pedal.

Sometimes I think about it and a laptop or dedicated mini PC is really interesting and flexible.

Computers are moving a LOT faster than anything else.
"Portability" is a joke as long as you need a soundcard, a foot controller, speaker/headphones ... a guitar

When i want maximum portability, i use my iphone, headphones, irig HD 2 and a dedicated Shorty guitar.
    But only for "training".

Flexibility is the final key : you can put anything on a computer, even for free.

On iPad, it is a nightmare pretending to be "multitask". And at the end, you pay big bucks to get a decent solution.
Hardware multiFX will still need a computer to set them right.

The only potential downside on computers is STABILITY.
But as i had hardware multiFX crash ... because they are digital too ...
Laptop + Cantabile like + disabled hardware (wifi, ethernet ...) is VERY stable.

Frankly, computers offer so much i think i will sell anything else, apart the above irig HD2 solution.
About mini PC, screen return is very important to me. At least preset name and such.

But some ppl may just use MIDI pedal board as regular pedalboard, and just put some stickers on the pedals (delay, boost, clean, drive, solo ...).

It depends if you need to use a DAW, complex host ...
For me, laptop in a rack seems the best solution.

    Something along this line :

I prefer audio assault over tonocracy just cause their pedal and fx sections sounds great, its one thing adding the NAM captures, which have limited reactions like real amps but the effects react very well..there are just a few things audio assault can do to take this to a whole new level, add pitch control like neural dsp, add control of the stereo width, add more sync options for effects, like 8ths for delays etc, you can also load Its with the loader but its still limited so adding a STL Igntite type libra option with up to 4 IRs would kill everything out there and maybe allow users to change the graphics on NAM, example, they can legally put a Marshall logo of their own as long as its not commercially used., not AS but the user.

same here, its really for kids, the IK multimedia blueboard and their plugs where cute but un useable for anything real, its a pain getting all this inside a logic IPAD set up, even with a 12 inch iPad pro
