If you've already got a pad MIDI controller, then Maschine, MPC live (just the software), then Ableton and Bitwig come with a lot of electronic drumloops and kits as well, and all of them are configured for controllers.

Just for drum kits my favourite is still Battery, because it has a metric shitton of mostly electronic kits, but for rhythms you need to defer someplace else.

Roland Cloud 808, 909, d16 Bundle has Nepheton2 and Drumazon2 (which are 909 and 808), Rob Papen Punch2 is nice and has some patterns, Sonic Charge Microtonic has patterns, but you can make patterns in almost all of them. Then you drag the pattern data out onto a Midi track in your DAW and assign it wherever you want. I like UVI Falcon 3 Drum Designer for this because you can change the samples on independent tracks and there are a lot of them. And dragging the Midi out is very easy.

Once you can get the pattern data to the DAW Midi track, you can assign them to any you have, Including NI Battery, Kontakt, Logic Drum MAchine Designer, or any other you prefer.

The important part is the Midi. You can find Midi loops in packs but most are not very great. Then duplicate the kick pattern and put Kick2 or Punchbox.

I'm not agreeing what you're saying, and d16's 808/909 are very good at what they do, provided you want a drum machine that sounds like a 808/909 :). Microtonic is one of my all time favourites, but it does require some effort to program. MIDI clip dragging is great, but Maschine/MPC can also do that, and they've got a bit more intricate drum grid programming, so you're not limited to step sequencers. Again, matter of taste. Have to say that the MT's fill feature is still absolutely fantastic, even if I don't end up using it's sounds, I'm sure to create some wonky drum fill bursts out of it.

Personally I've got Microtonic, a Battery, and a Maschine, and the MIDI triggers set to be the same so I can trigger them using the same map on my Maschine (either within it or using it in MIDI mode), then anything good I can easily route the midi to say Ableton's Drum Rack, or use the built-in MIDI clips to trigger any of them.

Then of course layering the drums and bussing them etc. but that wasn't the question here.

you can either run pattern data inside the drum machine plugin, or you can run midi data at it from the track. patterns are "loops". it's that simple.

Asking for "drum loops" like Stylus is more so like Recycle, and Logic Drum Machine designer is easily the best for this. In a few clicks, you can take any single loop directly to sliced, keymapped on your sampler, etc. It is like recycle but as fast as Serato Sample. (unless you need AI drum separation inside the sampler at the same time. )

It's not rocket science. It's midi/pattern data, audio, or a combination of the two.

I told him where to defer to.

Isn't the OP asking for a VST? That's a Logic exclusive. Again, not disagreeing, it's great.

All of the aforementioned can splice loops, and stack FX per slice. Maschine/MPC/Ableton come with plenty of one-shot samples and loops to be manipulated or triggered, again, as you said, either from MIDI or the internal sequencers(s). Matter of taste.

But this is veering dangerously close to an argument, but it's not supposed to be. I'll wait for OP to chime in, maybe they'll give us more info or their aims.

Triaz does have some weight behind it, and isnt bad at all, only issue why ive not bothered to delve deeper is the limited soundsets included, and i think i ran v1 and was buggy
An Absolutley outstanding Software drum mech> "perhaps dated but fucking brilliant" >>

    "Lin Plug RMV"
It doesnt have good sampling capabilities though, just very basic start and end point of your sample can be adjusted, and pitch etc
Youve analogue drum n hi hat n clap etc if you wish also
The actual editing system in terms of sounds is akin to the way kick 2 works but without the graphic interface ,point is its versatile if you wanna delve deeper

But aside from the fact that within RMV Youve every drum sound from anything and everything you could think of!!

im talking "Jomox, quasimidi309,All lin plugs units /808/909/707/606/etc etc etc acoustic kits also, plus all the analogue oldies ive not mentioned and frankly too many epic drum mechs to are all right there within RMV in editable pcm

Aside from the onboard pcm based sounds, "which cover so many coveted hardware units we all drool over and being pcm its sampled not an apoximation via sound design
Im not saying that its a one stop shop because for me because it isnt
But its still fucking brilliant, i heavily edit each drum hit so stock wont cut it

I mainly write DnB/Uk Garage/Hard House/sometimes i even go euphoric trance, and i can categorically tell you theres always elements from RMV in any Genre i write, because its got some truly sought after sounds within from epic machines,
