When loading up a project, sometimes the plugin can break a project for me by not showing the arrangement at all, and no audio playable, but somehow loads the whole mixer.

I have tried some things.
I asked FL's discord, Asked the support team from ChowDSP, but all I get is "open-source can break sometimes on FL". I turned off g-sync and freesync on my monitors, used DDU again and fresh install gpu drivers, reinstalled chowtape multiple times over and over again.

ughh... this is not helpful.
I find too many features in that open source plugin. I need an alternative or a way to fix this?
it's a daily driver, it just is. I like it. I want to use it or something similar

 

Open source and free plugins may be great, in theory. But a few years from now when you cannot replace them inside your projects and the developer has gone back to Accounting, you are screwed. Any one of these options are better, by a lot.

Try opening an issue on Chow's GitHub. Add as many details as possible (way more than you did here). Or just move on as suggested.
